Anthony's movie review: Suicide Squad

*look at the critics review* Hmm...  They seem to hated it... But some people said that its good. This is gonna be hard though if its good or bad. Only way to find out...

...  Wow...  This is...  Actually good?  But how...?

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review.

Last time, i reviewed Batman V Superman and it was a biggest disappointment film i've ever watch in my life, with no story, unlikable characters and it feels like it was done by Michael Bay... Which i was prayed to hope that Suicide Squad is gonna be better.

And so, since it came out, the critics in websites seem to hate this movie that they felt that it was badder than Batman V Superman. But the people in social media defended that this movie was surprisingly good. Which it made me feel confused that i don't know how did the critics hated it. But sometimes, the fans is taking too seriously that, like i said before, they made a petition to remove some sites like RottenTomatoes.com. I mean come on, im sick and tired of B****ery, we criticized whatever we want to tell either in internet or not.

Anyway, if you anyone never know if you are, Suicide Squad is a second DC universe film that it came out this year with Batman V Superman. But it was not made by "Zack Shnyder", instead, it was directed by David Ayer, but he also wrote this movie. and it was based on a comic as well.

So, with all that said, is this really gonna be a good DC film, or is gonna be the same as Batman V Superman?

Lets find out.

The story
After Superman died (Spoiler!!!), an official government name Amanda Waller was on plan about the prisoners for their mission to be good, despite they're bad guys, along with Colonel Rick Flag. What it happened is that one girl name June Moone was possessed to transforming into an evil witch named Enchantress who capture a victim to turning into her brother, Incubus. As it was reported that Enchantress grows her dark power to taking over the world, Amanda sends out prisoners, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc, El Diablo, Slipknot and Rick's bodyguard named Katana has to stop Enchantress's threat, but the catch is they the military put a small bomb inside the prisoners's body that if they escape or losing their mission, they'll die.
Well, i gotta say, it was actually a pretty good story. Its like "Yes! Finally DC listened our words to have a better story than before.". Even though some people felt the writing isn't that good, but for me, it was rather good. There's even a subplot where The Joker wanted to bring back Harley from Suicide Squad. I know that Harley had a crush on him, but im not sure why it was on the main plot. I guess its because they want to see more of The Joker. Not to mention, the movie has a sense of humor, i did chuckle from the dialogue for these characters. I mean, i know that some bad guys has a sense of humor.
Despite the lackluster of subplot, but the story was very good is if that it followed the comic, even though i never read the comic of Suicide Squad...

The production
I gotta that the production work was pretty good, not only its dark, but its also colorful. The action sequence was pretty cool and yet intense. But some say that the editing isn't as perfect, but it may not matter when i watched. I also like that the movie shows our characters in the movie, its as if that they finally make a characters development. But i have two problems of this film. First, the music is just mixed. Despite the composure was good, but its the additional music that its just too obvious that you probably recognized from the radio like Bohemian  Rhapsody by Queen, Paranoid by Ozzy Osbourne, Without me by Eminem, Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by ACDC. I mean its just too much that it needs to put less than 2 or 3. I know you guys may like it, but thats just my opinion. And second, this is another film that its been two hours. I mean i was constipated painfully that i need to go to the bathroom for a piss! Seriously, does this 2 hours films keep going? Its gonna hurt my D*** while watching it. Finally, i read the internet that the film was supposed to have more scenes with The Jokers, but most of them was cut, which i think they'll be in deleted scenes and finallym the film was originally to have King Shark, but the character was replaced by Killer Croc, which i think its because they have no enough budget for a CGI model of a humanoid shark. Aw well, at least King Shark was already shown in live-action in the episode of The Flash of Arrowverse.
Although the work was great, but the musical numbers is way to obvious and its hurting me for two hours film...

The characters
Unlike Batman V Superman, the characters actually likable in this film.

First is Deadshot (played by Will Smith), this guy is pretty cool, but he's not as dangerous than Deathstroke. Despite he's an elite hit-man. He has a cool gadgets like he has like two wrist guns which it pretty damn cool idea. Plus, the movie is try to give a tiny drama where he has a daughter he loves her, since he's a hit-man criminal. He's a cool bad guy of the group and Smith is impressive.

Next is Harley Quinn (played by Margot Robbie), she's probably a fan favorite in the movie, because not only she's pretty sexy, but she's such a crazy girl with a sense of humor (ever since she had a crush with The Joker), but sometimes she can be a bit creepy for her look (despite that she was splashed to the pool of acid like The Joker did in New 52 world). And if you're wondering about her classic jester outfit, well she did wears it for some part in the first act for her character development. She's beautiful, fun and Margot is also did a great job of her role.

Third member, but the leader of the group is Rick Flag (played by Joel Kinnaman), at first i though he was played by Chris Pratt, but that was a different person for my silly thought. Anyway, he's almost like a boss of the group, since he's a colonel. But he's pretty cool guy, despite that i though he's a neutral, but he did changed up to be friend with the group.

Fourth member is Captain Boomerang (played by Jai Courtney), i find him pretty cool, even though he's a bit crazy. Like Deadshot, he has a cool gadgets, like a bomb of boomerang. Also, he likes his pink unicorn. Yeah, i kinda don't like his development, sorry. But he's still looks cool and yet a bit insane. 

Fifth member is Killer Croc (played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje What...?), he's rather average, which i know its because Killer Croc is supposed to be a big humanoid reptile, but i guess its because they have no enough budget for him, so they decide to give the actor a makeup. He's like a small humanoid reptile of The Incredible Hulk, in average. But he did has a sense of humor.

Sixth member is El Diablo (played by Jay Hernandez), this guy looks a bit badass since he has a fire power. But i said "A bit badass", because like Deadshot, he has a sympathy for his past, due to the fact that he had a bad family since he's a crime that he killed his own family. What a bummer for him, i kinda feel bad for him. But he did tries to get a comeback from Deadshot for his ultimate flamethrower of his hands.

Seventh member is Katana (played by Karen Fukuhara for her film role debut), although she's a body guard of Rick Flag, i find her pretty badass that she doesn't give a S***. Even though she may only speaks Japanese, which im very surprised for Karen's speaking performance. But like two others, she has a drama that she lost her husband. I don't know why it has that, but its just nothing. Though she's still a badass member, since she's not a prisoner.

Finally there's the big boss for Suicide Squad is Amanda Waller (played by Viola Davis), this girl is pretty ruthless for a deadly rule for the prisoners. She ambitious and devious woman in the film. Plus, Viola said that she's fascinated for her role as a "powerful black woman of the order". If i was in Suicide Squad, il be a bit nervous from Amanda's order for the group, since she's pretty damn ruthless.

There's also Slipknot for the group but lets be honest, he's not really interesting, because he's the only one was short-lived. Bummer...

So we get the group out of the way, lets talk about the villains.

First up is The Joker (played by Jared Leto). I know that lotta people are debating who's the better role of The Joker like Jack Nicholsen in Tim Burton's Batman, Mark Hamill in voice action cartoons or video games and even the late Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. Anyway, Leto's Joker that i can easily like to say... He looks pretty creepy as hell! With his white skin, tattoos and his silver teeth. I guess the makeup artist did a horrific work for Leto's look of his role. Despite that he's a psychopathic villain, but he also has a small Shakespearean which im not sure if it works or not. Even though he's kinda wasted for his role for a subplot that he wants Harley Quinn back. Despite his flaws, but he's one creepy son of a B****.

Finally there's Enchantress (played by Cara Delevingne), when i first saw her, i was like "What..? Another creepy looking character? Well, i guess DC loves to the scare the S*** at the fans like me... ^^;". Anyway, despite creepy, but she's also looks beautiful. Plus, she's powerful with her dark power to taking over the world, she has mist teleport, transforming forms and pretty fast. Plus she also has her assistant brother Incubus and man he's huge like twices taller than humans. If only that there's a way to defeat her with Voodoo spell, just saying.

And finally, some heroes has a small appearance like Ben Affleck's Batman and The Flash (played by Erza Miller). But i like to say is "Wow spoiler alert! You just reveal The Flash's costume!". But i guess its because we're waiting for them for Justice League movie in 2017.

And now for my final thoughts of this film.
Overall, this movie much better that was expecting. The story is good, the characters are likable and production looks amazing. Even though it has a flaws like the musical numbers, the subplot, a very long films of 2 hours with my painful constipation and i understand why many people was clearly upset over the critics. I mean this is probably a big fat guilty pleasure films for the fans like me. Its much better than Batman V Superman and i might say that i recommend to watch this movie. Its probably a better DC universe films.

So, i rate this movie a 8/10.

Anthony's movie review: Star Trek Beyond

Space... The final frontier... These are the voyagers of the star ship Enterprise, its five-year mission, to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before...



*appear from transport of Enterprise* Wow... Its been an extreme voyage where i meet Kirk and Spock to exploring in multiple of weird planets!

Anyway, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review. So, what can i say about Star Trek, its one of the most legendary sci-fi with Star Wars (But Star Trek came out in 1966, eleven years before Star Wars), the series is all about exploration is various plants and even fighting against evil aliens like Klingons, Romulans and more of them around in galaxy.

The original show became popular that it made new show to have new characters and even movies for the story line. But one that i saw was the 2009 Star Trek by the most surprising director J.J. Abram, the same guy who brought back Star Wars in 2015. He directed 1 and 2, but not the third one, although he produced three of them. So he brought Justin Lin to direct the third one.

I saw the first one, but i never seen "Star Trek Into Darkness". ^^; So today, i went to watch the third one, because not only i skipped to third one, but its also my father's birthday, because he's a fan of Star Trek. Even though im not part of Trekkies, im more into a fanboy of Star Wars. ^^;

So, with all that said, can this movie will be a good third one, or is it gonna be a badly third film since others like Terminator 3?

Lets find out.

The story
After three years in five-year mission with Enterprise, Captain James Kirk and his crews arrives into a Starbase Yorktown (Wow, fascinating), Kirk meet up with Vice Admiral for a new plan if Spock will become a new captain, Sulu reunites his family, Scotty is struggling for operating the ship and Spock received a message that Ambassador Spock (aka Leonard Nemoy :'() is dead. But then one survivor name Kalara came to tell the crew about her ship was stranded on the planet called Altamid, so Kirk accepts. But when they reached to the planet, they got swarmed by a swarm of ships, lead by a commander name Krall as he want to stealing a relic called "Abronath" to destroy any planets. When the Enterprise was crashed in the planet, they have to find some ship to get out. Meanwhile, Scotty meet a female scavenger name Jaylah, who betrayed Krall for losing her parents. So Kirk and his crews has not only find a ship, but also fight Krall's evil plan.

Now to be fair. the story feels a bit similar from the first one, but with a creative an interesting subplot, which is is all about finding a new ship. The difference is in the first fim is about Romulan and the third one is Krall. Although it splits the plot with characters are separated, with Kirk and Chekov find something for a new ship. Spock and McCoy find somewhere to save Spock's life that he was wounded, Scooty meets Jaylah and Sulu, Uhura and the other crews are captured by Krall. Plus, it has some sense of humor dialogue that it made me chuckle, mainly because the movie was also written by Simon Pegg. But the third act is although its a good action, but i won't spoil that some that doesn't make any sense. If you wanna know, watch it, you know what i mean. >_>'
Though its a bit formulaic from the first one, but its pretty interesting idea with a mix.

The production
The budget of the film when they developed was over 185 million dollars. And i gotta say, it was pretty good work. The background and the environment in location are pretty cool for the sci-fi. Even though this is all done with CGI. Aside from CG, they also filmed in countries location like Dubai in UAE and Seoul in South Korea. Before them, they filmed in British Colombia, Canada, right after a delayed script. The clothes of the main crews are pretty much the same as the original one, but adding texture of futuristic. As for the alien force of Krall, they looks pretty damn cool. Even though its kinda sad that the Enterprise was destroyed in the first act, but don't worry, it will be back. And man... This is another movie is been 2 hours to watching since i was painfully constipating without going to the restroom of peeing. XC
Either way, the production was great, but you think they could tone down the time for watching without in pain?

The characters
For all of you Trekkies out there, you're all familiar with the characters.

First is Captain James Kirk (played by Chris Pine), he's a main officer of USS Enterprise. Even though he replaced William Shatner, but i think Pine did a great job of his role. He had a good work for a few stunts, nice lines and probably likable.

Next is Spock, the Vulcan of the first officer of USS (played by Zachary Quinto). Again, even though he replaced the late Leonard Nemoy, but he also did a good job, he's serious, intelligent and... Tributic for Nemoy.

Finally there's Chekov, the navigator of Enterpise (played by Anton Yelchin), he's also an interesting character, since he's a Russian character, even though i never heard of him. The reason why i talk about Chekov a bit, its because sadly, before the film's release, Anton Yelchin died of fatal car crash on the brick pillar outside of his home Studio City with his age of 27 on June 19, 2016. Even though i never heard of him, but its pretty sad for his death. Rest in peace, Anton. :(

There's more crews like Scotty (played by Simon Pegg) is the engineer, McCoy (played by Karl Urban) is a chief medic, Uhura (played by Zoe Saldana) is the only main female of USS as a communicator, Sulu (played by John Cho) is a third officer and helmsman.

There two more characters that il talk about with my opinion.

First there's Jaylah (played by Sofia Boutella), at first, she kinda reminds me of Rey from Star Wars, in alien form. But to be fair, she's pretty cool, despite a bit taking serious at the crews of USS and only appears in second act. I wonder what if she signed as a new member of USS in the fourth film.

Finally there's Krall, and alien who wants to taking over the galaxy (Played by... Idris Elba again??? 0_0). He looks pretty badass thanks to his look and also dangerous for his evil plan. and man, this is the third time i mentioned Idris Elba. ^^;

And now for my final opinion of this film.
Although im not a fan of Star Trek, but it was actually pretty good. With creative subplot of story, interesting characters and fascinating production. But some people hated this movie that its the weakest of the third movie. i understand their opinion if its bad. But for me, its just a bit too long to watch and the final act is probably the weakest part of the film. If you love this movie, go watch it. If not, well maybe you should stick to the 2009 one.

So, il rate this movie a 7/10.

Anthony's cartoon review: Road Rovers revisited

Notice, this is a revisited of my old review of Road Rovers in my account of DA "Mature915". And also with a help of MDTArtist83's ideas for the characters from fan-fiction and developments. Readers description advised.

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome to my Cartoon review.

Back in April 2015, i made a review of Road Rovers. Which i though it was great, but looking back, i wasn't as satisfy for this, because i made a few errors of my words, some that my thoughts wasn't too easy and some that i put too much emojis.

So, i better try it again, because not only make it better, but its also a 20th anniversary of Road Rovers, since it came out in 1996. And as in early 2015, Warner Bros finally decided to release a DVD, which means we're finally manage to buy the copy to bring us back in time. 

Well, not for me, because i never seen this show, since i used to enjoy some cartoons in my childhood like Dexter's Laboratory, The Fly Tales, Inspector Gadget and even Pokemon Anime 1st Gen.

So for those you never heard of, Road Rovers is a 1996 to 1997 Warner Bros cartoon that was directed written by Tom Ruegger. As i said before, it only has 13 episodes in a single season. Which the show wasn't gain more promises because it has some edgy moments and some fan-service.

So, can this show holds up today, or is this show remains obscurity?

Lets find out.

The story

It begins in Socorro, New Mexico,with a professor name William F. Shepherd who works on a laboratory for the project of experimental transdogmafier technology, but then a main villain name General Parvo who wants the technology, but he can also exchange Shepherd's lost dog. But it was all Parvo's deadly trap to destroy the lab and steal his technology to creating mutants to taking over the world. But one year later, Shepherd who's rarely revived to call upon five dogs to become anthro dogs know as "Cano-sapiens" with Hunter, Colleen, Exile, Blitz, Shag and Muzzle(?) come to save the world from Parvo's threats.

If' you've seen or heard of this show, you're probably be like "Hey, its similar story elements of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.". I mean kinda sounds like it, but with dogs. The different is that in Ninja Turtles, it takes placer on sewer basement, while Road Rovers takes place on the underground basement the lab's destruction, but it feels rather puzzling for the basement, which il get to that later about it and Professor Shepherd.

Even though the story was the same as The Ninja turtles, but slightly creative for some parts.

The animation

I don't know what to say about the animation, its just a cool looking art of animation of 90's. Even its almost look like Batman animated series, but with dogs. The background is pretty cool and the character designs is interesting and badass. sometimes, the animation design might get changes that we though it was done by the same animators, but it may or may not didn't matter for the quality. Not to mention, the vehicles of Road rovers are pretty cool, Its almost like what if they release a merchandise of them. I wonder what if Hasbro do that.

Not much else to say, the animation is well done, for 96 to 97.

The characters

These characters are either good or even a mixed bag. Not to mention il talk about almost every characters on the show to wanna know who they are if you're not a huge fan of it.

First up is Hunter, the Golden Retriever from USA and the leader of the group. (Voiced by Jess Harnell, who's best known as a funny narrator of America's Funniest home videos and he's still doing it to this day.) He's rather a nice boss with carefree and a respect for the team. He has the ability of super-speed and he loves playing fetch with a tennis ball. But the downside is that the show is focusing too much about Hunter. He's just doing his mission all by himself than his partners. That is just absolutely shameful to considering that he's a Gary Stu. I mean  he could've let his partners to do their mission whatever they want than doing it himself only.

He could be interesting, but he's rather a Gary Stu.

Next is the only female of the group name Colleen, the rough Collie from UK. (Voiced by Tress Macneille, aka Dot from Animaniacs) She's rather likable in the show, due to the fact that she's a martial artist and she has a sense of humor with sassy attitude. She's also a medic, i wonder what if her partners keep calling her as "Doctor" if they're injured. However, she has a temper problem whenever she was annoyed by Blitz, which no matter how many times she attacks him, she just acting like she didn't care for some reason. The most common thing about her, is that she's a love interest of Hunter, but the downside is that they could've add more development for their relationship.

Despite her temper problem from Blitz, but she's an interesting girl to kicking ass of martial arts.

The third member is Exile, a Siberian husky from...   Well, Siberia. (Voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson) He's another likable character in the show. He's a heart-warming member of the group that he's even more nicer than Hunter. He has super strength, heat vision, cold vision and even night vision. Like Colleen, he also have a problem with Blitz, which no matter Blitz makes annoying or stupid, he always telling him with "Don't be a weird boy". But sometimes, he can be a bit immature for a judgement of their minds like saying that of the former member name "Sport" calling him a "losing his business of his mind". 

Despite immature, but he's still a cool and strong husky.

The fourth member is Blitz, a Doberman from Germany (voiced by Jeff Bennett, aka Johnny Bravo). Unlike three members of the group, he's easily a downfall character of the show, he has no respect for his partners like Colleen and Exile and much as being an egotistic. But he did doing better, since he has sharp claws and teeth to cut or bite sharply, but thats just the beginning. Its as if he's trying way to hard to be a nice guy, failed miserably for his attitude problem. He's much as whiny and begging everytime for his life. I mean come on, there's no way to begging yourself in interrogation or in torture room.

But the same happens for the fandom like in fan-fiction, like in one fan-fiction, he calls for quit the group after many times being abused by his partners, its just plain harsh and depressing for him. I know its all part of a gag in the show, but its rather getting old over and over for being abused.

Personally, im not sure that i either like of hate him, because he always cause nothing but trouble for the team.

The fifth member is Shag, Tibetan terrier from Switzerland. (Voiced by the man withe the thousand voices, Frank Welker) He's probably the weakest member of the group with Blitz, but with cowardly attitude. He didn't have any chance to beating up the bad guys in the fight scene. Well, he did do his business like drinking in toilet or even being a cooker in the basement. For his ability? Well, he only has super strength like Exile, but maybe stronger than him? Either that or maybe he uses a rocket launcher in the wrong position. But not only being a coward, he can't take negative or insult with his anger. Sheesh, talk about a temper problem or other wise he could make a death threat, especially with Blitz, kinda...

So basically, he's like what if they mix between Scooby-Do and Courage the cowardly dog in the blender. But i hate to say that, he's pretty much unlikable in the show what so ever.

The sixth and final member of the group is Muzzle, Rottweiler from USA too. (Also voiced by Frank Welker) He's another likable character in the show, mainly because he's more like a weapon to kill anyone in off-screen (Yeah, its to far for his killing. ^^;). Even he may or may not have personality, since he's like a psychopath dog for violents. But other times he's absent in various episode. But he's the only member in dog form than into "Cano-sapien". But in most fan-fiction, he did turn into "Cano-Sapien" form to give him a voice. I was imagine his voice will be like Ian Hecox from Smosh but a bit deeper.

He's rather likable, but he could get more appearance with extra personality and more action.

For the final character of the good guys is Professor William F. Shepherd (voice by Joseph Campanella), he was also refereed as "The master" for the rovers. But he's one of the character that i don't know how. Like how did he survived as a god-like boss with white hairs, glowing eyes and a glowing room. Not to mention, how did her made basement and how did he calls five dogs on their country, is it supposed to be a satellite?? But no, it has no answers about The master, its just outright frustrating for the cryptic about his flippin life!

I apologize for my anger problem, which we know that he's much as being an unknown character.

There a few other goods in the show, like Professor Hubert, who's a scientist in the basement, but he only has a small appearance in one episode and yeah. Plus, Shepherd mentioned that there five more characters in the group that i think they're supposed to be missing in the episode of "Dawn of the Groomer". I don't who they are, but they're also remain unknown. Im pretty some fan made a fan-fiction for their character development.

So now we got the good guys out of the way, lets talk about the bad guys.

Our main villain of the show is General Parvo and his female assistant The Groomer. Only talking about them unlike three other guys like Captain Storm, Gustav and Donovan, The best way to say about them, they are super stupid (Storm), super lame (Gustav) and super boring (Donovan).

Anyway, back the main villains. 

General Parvo is one villain that we like. (Especially he was voiced by Jim Cummings, aka Dr. Robotnik from Sonic Satam). As i mention before, he's goal is to create mutated animals like dogs, cats, crocodiles, bugs and others to taking over the world. When you first see him, you probably think he's a badass looking vilain with robot arm and leg with a similar look from Hulk Hogan. But not before he was revealed as a half-man/half-cat in "Dawn of the Groomer", which he said that he hates cats and dogs. Which its probably a cliche idea of cats vs dogs. Well, he did show his backstory about him in episode 10(?) "Reigning Cats And Dogs", but it was pretty complicated, because we don't know how did he has robotic arm and leg.

As for his assistant The Groomer (voiced by Sheena Easton), she's rather an interesting villainess. But she has a love and hate relationship from Parvo, due to the fact that she's a cat lover in "Dawn of the Groomer", which she creates her felomutants. Not to mention, she can be creepy, since she has her man-made scissors to scare the heck at Shag, but not before take rage at her.

However in the final episode of "A day in the life", they're being busted by Road Rovers, as Hunter summons Muzzle to attack them, but it was blackout for several hours later which is absolutely annoying. But many fans are debating if they die or survived. Personally, i'd say they're being killed off by Muzzle in off-screen.

Overall, these guys are great, even though some backstory of Parvo could've add more development.

Now lets talk about the mutants. If you've seen Ninja Turtles, you're familiar with mutated henchmen like Bebop and Rocksteady. Well, in Road Rovers, it has that, kinda...

Meet Fluffy and Spot.

These guys are the earliest example of Canomutants. Even though they may not have personality or even giving a name. (almost)

Well, one of the light brown with leotard one was named Fluffy, which he was given from the owner. And the dalmatian one has no name, thankfully he has a name called "Spot". It may sound like an obvious name choice for dogs, but maybe it fit well for his appearance.

However, they only appear two episodes. Well actually, Spot appeared three episodes specifically.

In most fan-fiction, they have personalities, they have spoken dialogues and they're portray as a comical bad guys with a gag of failure plans, kinda like Wile E Coyote from Looney Tunes.

I gotta say, they look pretty cool, i wonder what if they meet Bebop and Rocksteady.

The third mutated dog is a poodle name "Snuggles".

Like Fluffy, he only appeared two episodes and he only has a small appearances. 

When i first saw a poodle for the test from Parvo's plan, i though that its female dog which i was expect to see a female mutated dog because of a female-like eyes. But when he was transformed for seconds, i felt that i changed my mind as if saying "Ok, il change my mind, i think its a male.". Either that or maybe il probably prefer to hear Parvo's quote "Get rid of him".

Once again, he has no name and personality. Thankfully he has a name "Snuggles". It may sound like a weird choice, but i think it fit well, since he's a poodle.

Like Fluffy and Spot, in fan-fiction, he has more development with personality and he has spoken dialogue with French accent, because most poodle come from France.

There a few other Canomutants in the show, which they have like three designs that Parvo created them. Which most of them appear small in less than 3 episodes and some of them appeared once.

For example, there's two Canomutants (Red and Blue) appear only at the beginning of "Still A Few Bugs In The System".

When i first saw them, they made me in curiosity like "Why these guys looks like a rejected wrestlers?", "Why did they wear them on purpose?" or "Whats with the fashion choice for them?"

These outfits like them is common in the most old comics and cartoons that some characters wear speedo or something. Its always a rare idea for this.

But to be honest, they could've make more appearance, since they're like a beginner enemies like in arcade games or RPG. They're rather handsome and interesting.

Final example is these other Canomutants.

These guys dressed up what if they stole from military basement of USA.

Silly imagination aside, they're also pretty cool in Platoon. Even they have a different heads since they're all transformed by Parvo and The Groomer.

These Canomutants are pretty cool, handsome and rather likable, since they only have small and single appearances.

The last one that im talking about is the Felomutants.

These mutated cats appeared only one episode of "Dawn of the Groomer" which they only made by The Groomer, cause like i said, she loves cats, but Parvo was unimpressed by her idea, because again, he hates cats, since he's also a cat.

Like Canomutants, they have no name and personality. But they have their development from the fans.

One of the brown with Mohawk name "Whisker". At first, i was convinced that its a female character, due to the obvious reason that she has a boobs and slim body. Also, i don't know how did she has a deep boyish voiced to introduce the empress to Colleen and Blitz.

The big white one named "Snowball". I think his name fits well for his appearance. Even though its strange that he's bottomless. I gueess the producer doesn't want to get more fan service with speedos like Red and Blue Canomutants had.

And the back one called "Midnight", also agreement to fit the name perfectly. However, he's the only one who never appear, i don't know, maybe he just walked away to get his own cat food.

Like Parvo and The Groomer's fate, when the temple is about to destroy, we didn't know what happen to them, did they die or survived? We don't know. Personally, i suggest they'll survive from the disaster and out there in unknown.

They're pretty interesting, but having cats are way to cute to be a creepy mutated creatures.

There a few other mutants, but if i have to pick one that i like, it will be a mutated bugs in "Still A Few Bugs In The System". Like Canomutants Red and Blue, they only appear once, but they're the main focus of the episode. They look pretty cool, creepy and disgusting if anyone who has a fear of bugs. They feel like what if they'r from Fallout series, it will be even more creepy in the game to be bigger than others. But im suprised there's no other bugs choice like cockroaches, mantis, moth or even Spider-- Oh wait, its not a bug.

So lets talk about the reasons of the show and others with my opinion.

For the reason why it was canceled, is that some parents felt that it felt rather edgy for kids like it has violence, some fan-service  or maybe it was a bit similar to TMNT. Another mention is that show didn't gain popularity for the rating and opinion since they're planned to make their second season, but the project was flushed out. another fact about scrapping the project, is that rumor has it that there's a 14th episode that was nearly finished, but never release on TV, there's also rumor about Christmas special, but we don't know if its true. 

The show ends up remaining obscurity in the early millennium, not even a plan of merchandise like toys, comics, VHS, video games, costumes nor any other stuff what fans like to get. Its very sad end what it could've make a rivalry with Ninja Turtles, a similar story elements with dogs saving the world from a hybrid villain creating mutants taking over world to make a favorite show in late 90's, and then they're all vanished.

But several years later, it became a cult favorite for the childhood experience back in the late 90's, which it became a small fandom in internet like DeviantArt. You know, even though i like the show because of the fandom, but i was likely enjoy some bigger ones like My little pony or even Steven Universe, but they came out in 2010 era. I respect to the fans that we like some cultures of cartoons in childhood or even in modern age, but i understand why it was sad that some of them are short-lived for the lack of rating, quality or any other problems, i can respect their sympathy to anyone who misses the old gem from the past. If maybe, some shows will coming back for a sequel, a spin-off or a reboot.

It was pretty shallow for the obscurity, which we always want back for Warner Bros. I mean for example, there's Young Justice that was started in 2011, but quickly ended in 2013. But don't worry, they will be back for their third season in the future, its as if they promised to the fans to bring it back.

As for Road Rovers? it didn't happened at all... But not before WB admitted that fans really miss the show, as they took their promise that they release a DVD of the show in early 2015. Its really nice to bring it back for the fans, even though they could've release it in this year for the 20th anniversary, but thats their decision.

Finally, lets talk about same fact times of the show that you'll find something that you've never seen.

In episode 3 called "A Hair of The Dog That Bit You", there's one female character name Princess Diana who appeared in cameo. This show came out 1996, one year before her widespread tragic death in Paris with a fatal car crash.

Another cameo in the show is the former president of USA name Bill Clinton, who's been in 1993 to 2001 which he was replaced by a shameful president George W. Bush. Even though this show was made in the 90's, it makes sense to have Mr. Clinton on the show that he was referenced. If Road Rovers coming back, im not sure if they'll using a real life president again, i hope its gonna be a fictional character who will be a president of USA unlike what we have here in 2016. (Goddamn you Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump!!!)

The show was referenced from other cartoons that they're also made by Warner Bros. 

For example, in one episode of "The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries", there's a statue of Hunter in the museum. But i never seen this show...

Another referenced is show called "Histeria!", which there's a dog name Fetch (voiced by of course, Frank Welker), who looks a bit similar to Hunter. Which many people theorized they're a lost twin brothers, but for me, its just a silly imagination.

In the last episode of "A day in the life" there's a song sequence about Russian names. But it was quickly cut out, which i think that is just plain racism for Russia. Don't know how, 

But some theories doesn't make any sense at all, one theory said that show is a ripoff of one that was called "Wing Puppies" that was made by Blumenfeld, which they sued Warner Bros for stealing their ideas. I searched around on Google for the information. But as i agree, this is just nothing but a non-sense of hoax. I mean, who ever wrote this theory is absolutely stupidest i've heard since a multiple of weird theories about mysterious disappearances.

Ok, its time for my final opinion of this underrated show.

Overall, Road Rovers is probably an interesting show that i gave a shot last year. If maybe il rewatch it to looking back.

It has creative story (Even though its a same elements of TMNT), good animation for the 90's and its now wonder why it considered as a cult favorite. Even though some of the characters that are mixed, some that are good and some that are...  lackluster.

If you're asking which episodes i like, it will be Episode 1: Let's Hit The Road, Episode 3: A Hair of The Dog That Bit You, Episode 6: The Dog Who Knew Too Much, Episode 7: Hunter's Heroes, Episode 8: Dawn of The Groomer and Episode 9: Still A Few Bugs In The System. but some episode that i don't like, it will be Episode 2: Storm From The Pacific, Episode 10: Reigning Cats And Dogs, Episode 12: Take me to your leader and Episode 13: A day in the life.

Like i said, i understand you miss your fav underrated show in the 90's, but they're back for the DVD release, so you can get it in internet store to looking back.

If you like this gem, this one is for you.

Now, i though i gave it a 9/10, which like i said, i wasn't as satisfy for my thoughts of my review.

So, il decided change my rating to 8/10.

It may have some problems, but its always great to looking back to your childhood experience. Well ,not for me, because i was curious about it before i watched it.

Anthony's movie review: Man of Steel.

Notice, this is a re-review of Man of Steel for looking back. But just to warn you, Spoiler ahead.

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review.

Last time, i reviewed Batman V Superman, and good lord its one of the biggest disappointing film i've ever watch in 2016...

But i felt like to look back of the first DC Universe films that Zack Snyder tried to make it for a rivalry of Marvel Cinematic Universe. But it had a rough starts. I reviewed this movie back then, but im not as satisfying for this. I guess you can say, i was a poor reviewer with a nothing but a crappy positive thoughts. So, im gonna start over for my better thoughts.

Anyway, Man of Steel is a 2013 movie that you expected to be a good Superman movie, but it made it into a biggest disappointment.

So, how disappointing can it be?

Lets find out.

The story
As you know, it begins in a planet called "Krypton" where Kal El was born as a son of Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van. Meanwhile, a General named Zod who's supposed to be a friend with Jor-El, but Jor refused, because it will be too late to save their race when their planet was about to end with destruction. Zod was very upset as he stabs on Jor's gut. As Zod and his partners become a prisoners of Phantom Zone, but Zod really wants to finding Kal-El so bad. As Kal-El was landing on Earth, we skip about... 30 years i think, because the editor didn't care about Kal-El's meeting Kent's family, where Kal-El (aka Clark Kent) is working as an anti-hero with fire agents somewhere. Then after fillers later (Due to the fact the movie decided to go with plenty of flashbacks with Clark in school and he saves the school bus that he would've let them die.), he sees a ship that he reunites his father Jor-El to give him his Superman suit to become a hero of the hope. But not before Zod and his minions also coming to Earth for their plan to taking over the Earth for the population of Kryptonians. Its up for Superman to save the Earth from Zod.

Honestly, the story is rather a mix. Sure, the movie was trying to focusing with Kal-El, but its just plain random with flashbacks, then we're in modern then another flashback. Its as with that they made us feel curious to know where did superman begin, but come on, just make a perfect order of the origin. Here however, the movie decided to go in sugar high in the first act. Although it has a good action but it has a creative evil plan. Unlike the second Superman film where Zod's plan is become big boss of the authority to take Superman down. But in this movie, his plan is to recreate the population of Kryptonians. But the movie is focusing with action than development, thats the major flaw of this movie. They could've give us to know who they are, but it decided to let us know about something important from the crappy dialogue.

Although the story was ok, but they could've make something important for those who never heard of Superman.

The production
Now the production itself of this movie looks pretty impressive. Like the background of Planet Krypton and the rampage of Earth was outstanding job. Not to mention, the costume design of Superman are interesting and others of Kryptonians are pretty cool with a creative armors. and yes, i know the costume of Superman was based on "New 52" for the changes, but im ok for that. But sometimes the production got a problem. For example, the filming is always shaking. I know it used every films, but seriously, i hate shaky camera while filming, it only works in found footage films. But others are annoying to make motion sick, is the use of zoom in. I know it try to focus to our vision than blurry, but come on, it uses almost everytime. But the embarrassment part of the film is the scene where Superman fighting against Zod's minion, it has a product placements, there's Ihop restaurant, Sears, 7 Eleven and even U-haul. I mean, i wasn't surprised that there's no Dasani's venting machine or even WalMart got crushed by disaster. They could've make their fictional product placement without making viewers felt embarrassing.

Even though it looks great, but it has a problem what so ever.

The characters
These characters would've been developed as we really want to know.

Fist up is Kal-El aka Clark Kent and Superman (played by Henry Cavill). We always want to know where did he begin, but he's much a little bit boring. Which he's portray as a mental from the past that he had no idea what he was thinking like saving kids from the bus that could've let them die or even didn't want to save the humans while fighting against Zod in the flippin city! But other times the scene where he flies away to say goodbye for Jor-El, he's like portray as Jesus. I know Superman is a god, but there's no reason to put a Jesus thingy in the movie. Even though Henry did a good role, but Superman could've be interesting to be like... I don't know... Brave?

Next up is Lois Lane (played by Amy Adams), at first, she seems to be an ok character, but she's just rather...   a bit boring. I know she's try to be a bit beautiful and adding a sense of humor, but sometimes she gets boring that she could've make something interesting. Well, she did gets better like the scene where she tries to escape from Zod's ship with a help of Jor-El. Although Amy also did a good acting, but again, she could've adding important about her.

The there's Jor-El, Kal-El's real son (played by Russell Crowe). Even though Crowe did a great work, but i feel that he doesn't feel like he's portray as a father. He's more like acting like a mentor from the past. Not to mention, i though Jor-El is supposed to be dead from a destruction, but i feel like the writer let him live to you know, giving something important about Kryptonians for Kal-El and then he disappears in the second act?  Ok...?

Then, there's Jonathan Kent, Kal-El adopting father (played by Kevin Costner), yet another legendary actor in the film with a good role. I get the feel that the writer was focusing with the dialogue where he nearly knows about Kal-El or other times though he let his son to let the kids die from the bus's accident. I guess they're trying to be realistic, but its just plain hard to think about a relationship between Clark and Jonathan. Sometimes he just changed his mind like tell Clark to be a farmer than being a kid who got changed everything. Seriously Jonathan, make up your min-- Oh wait, he'd dead from a tornado... ^^; 

Finally there's General Zod, the main antagonist in this film (played by Michael Shannon). I find him to be over the top, because he's nearly being a kid who yells everything. I guess they're try to make him threatening but fail. I mean come on, Batman is much more threatening than Zod. If you've seen Superman 2, you can see how Zod portray is, he's much as threatening to change the world to become a new savior to take off Superman, as well with overacting of Terence Stamp. Here however, they're trying to be threatening, but almost fail. Which for me, he's rather good.

While the rest of the characters are not much to say, some that are ok or some that are bland. These characters could've make something good to give us a development, but nope, it focuses with action than explanation.

About the ending, when i saw that, i was shocked. If you've see any comics of Superman, he never kill anyone, he's just let them go to get arrested to the prison or even saving people. However, Superman just forget them, he just fight zod to accidentally kill these poor peoples and even kill Zod by breaking the neck. I mean, i've never seen about Superman kill the bad guy. Well, sure he did kill Zod in Superman 2, not as violent, but more violent is where he kills The Joker in the comic. and the rest of the ending, it just wrapping up where Clark become a worker of Daily Planet and still being a Superman to save anyone else and thats it.

Not a good ending to expecting...

And now for my final opinion of this film.
Overall, Man of Steel is rather ok. the production is rather good, the acting is great and the story is interesting. But its the character development or some logic is just missing that we want t know, but it just flushed out that most of the parts that doesn't make any sense. I mean, it could've been great since i saw it in the cinema that it though it was great. But again, looking back is rather semi above average. If you like Superman or even a new DC universe films, its for you.

So, my rating of this movie is 5.5/10.
