Anthony's movie review: Doctor Strange

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review. Yup, im back to do a film release review like its been two months of hiatus, So i finally came back to the theater to watched another Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This time, im going to talking a film with Doctor Strange. Its a 2016 movie that was written and directed by Scott Derrickson and produced by Kevin Feige. The strange fact about this movie that it was originally developed somewhere in the 1980's, but it had been one hell of a development that it was originally to be with Paramount Pictures, but it was later changed to Marvel Studios  and even plenty of re-writing.

Just to give a fact, is that at first, i was curious about Doctor Strange, but my father was a huged fan of him back in the 70's since he loves comic along with Superman and Spider-man. So after decades of my curiosity, i managed to watch this movie to find out who Doctor Strange is all about.

So with all that said, will this movie will be a good standalone film, or is it rather overshadowed by Civil War?

Lets find out.

The story
It begins in Kathmandu, Nepal, where a main antagonist name Kaecilius who ripped off the page that belongs to "Ancient One" that he take control his power known as "Mirror dimension", in other words, he used to be with her, but he betrayed her to get the page for his plan. Meanwhile, we introduced Stephen Strange, who's a neurosurgeon got a car crash that causing an injuries of his hands's vain, cause his hands nearly uncontrollable that he really wants his hands healed. He travels to Nepal to find a place called Kamar-Taj. But not before he meets Karl Mordo to bring him there that Strange meets Ancient One. But rather asking a favor of healing, she chooses to demonstrating about Astral projection and Mirror Dimension. As a result, he was shockingly impressed he want to teaching to have powers, despite of arrogance. Once Stephen did have magical powers like magic shield, some magic whip, opening portal and even astral projection, he also have  Cloak of Levitation, which it can give him a flying ability and torturing bad guys and an amulet called Eye of Agamotto, which it can control time from reverse and time loop. So its up Stephen as "Doctor Strange" to save the world from Kaecilius's plan (Where his mission is to opening the other realm known as Dark Dimension to summoning an evil lord name Dormammu).

I gotta say, its an interesting story, even that its like any typical stories about the bad guys attempt to open the evil world to taking over the Earth. But this one is much more interesting and creative. But my problem of this movie is that in the first act, it was kinda rushed for Stephen Strange's development, like he's a neurosurgeon who had a car crash and kinda broke up his ex-girlfriend name Christine Palmer and...   thats it, whats the point for a rushing first act?

Aside from a bad first act, the story is rather good to watch.

The production.
Unlike any Marvel films the their productions that are impressive, but this one, its one of the most over the top production i've ever seen, i know this film has a great productions with astral projection and mirror dimension, but good lord, the projection is plain illusion. I guess it explained why this film was developed with 165 million dollars. They did a great job. But the issue of the production is the scene where Ancient One demonstrates Stephen with astral projection, this scene is absolutely insane of roller coaster, like its almost like "Inception" in sugar rush. It was curious and a bit crazy when watched this scene, i mean i know its an Astral projection, but jeez, calm down, movie. Not to mention, this is another film takes about two hours. Well, its almost take about two hours, but it was specifically about one hour in fifty-five minutes, but i did survive myself from constipation to watching the final act. I mean i was nearly going to throw up, but don't worry, im ok.

Although it was a bit insane and too long (A bit), the production looks impressive to watch.

The characters
If you ever read the comic, you probably known them. If haven't heard of them like myself, il explain to them and give my opinion.

First is our main star of the movie, Doctor Stephen Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch), i find him a fascinating character in the movie, which at first i though he's not gonna be good, but later, he's growing into a cool character. Even though he's a bit arrogant and his personality feels a bit like Iron Man or Antman because he was joking with a culture reference, which it was a bit weak like its getting a bit old for a culture reference of personalities. But he did made me chuckle for his joke. Despite that, Benedict did a nice work for his main role.

Next is Strange's sidekick name Karl Mordo (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor), he's an interesting sidekick in the movie, well, not only a sidekick, but also a mentor of Strange. Plus, i like his ability that he can jumping or walking to an invisible platform by himself. He also have a staff called "Living Tribunal" and he has flexible power. Strangely, in the comic, he was a bad guy of Doctor Strange. Its kinda like Kaa from "The Jungle Book" where he's a good guy in the book, but he was changed into a bad guy in the Disney films. Aside his role of the character, he's an interesting sidekick and Chiwetel did a nice work.

Then there's Ancient One (played by Tilda Swinton), she's a main mentor in the movie that she possesses illusion (aka Mirror Dimension and Astral projection) and she looks pretty cool. Like Mordo, she has a strange changing from the comic, which in the comic, the Ancient One is supposed to be a male, but the role was change based on the stereotypes. Its a bizarre and kinda sexist choice for the character's gender, but i digress.

The final good guys is Wong (played by Benedict Wong), who's Strange's another sidekick in the movie. He's a master of Mystic Arts and a protector of Kamar-Taj's valuable items. Like the Ancient One, he was completely different in the comic, where he's portray as a stereotypical Asian with martial arts and a servant. So he was changed as a teacher and a librarian. I guess its because they're to avoid a controversies of racism.

and finally there's the main antagonist Kaecilius (played by Mads Mikkelsen), he's a traitor of Kamar-Taj that he wants his power of illusion to taking over the world, which they said he's rather similar to Saruman and Sauron from The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Even though i never see three LOTR's trilogy, but im ok for that. Not to mention, he has a cool looking makeup of his eyes, which they said it takes about tow to three hours, i like his makeup in the movie. Despite similar character of J.R.R. Tolkien's characters, he's pretty cool and Mads did an interesting role.

There a few other characters in the movie like Christine Palmer (played Rachel McAdams), who's a love interest of Doctor Strange Dormammu (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) who's a lord of Dark Dimension, but i won't tell about him, because of spoilers. And yes, Stan Lee will always making his cameo appearance, try to find him while watching a movie.

Despite of changing portrayal of racism, the characters are rather interesting to watch and im mostly enjoy of Doctor Strange's role.

And now for my final opinion of the film.
Overall, Doctor Strange is strangely a good movie, with interesting story, fascination production and good characters. Even though im fine for changing portrayal to avoid offensive race, but it has some flaws like a rushed development of the first act, over the top scene of Stephen in astral plane scene and pretty long film with a near two hours.

If you like this movie, go ahead, watch it if you want. If not, you'll probably find that the film is a bit weak.

So, i rate this 8/10.

So this ends of my movie review, if you have your opinion or any suggestions, let me know at the comments bellow.

Thanks for reading and im Anthony, signing out.

Anthony's movie review: Space Jam

... Man, i haven't doing a movie, since i took a hiatus for like, one in a half month after my Sausage Party review. I guess im in a mood to review some past films...  Hmm... I wonder what film that i pick when i was a young teenager or something...  Well, i guess il pick one that i remembered that is a cult favorite. Even though today is Canadian Thanksgiving. But...  Meh, why not.

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to Movie review. Well, its been a months that i took a hiatus for my decision of films that come out this year. But i felt like to going back in time to review some films that we love, some are my personal fav that we love, some that is underrated and some that are guilty pleasure. So today's movie review, im talking about one film that was a cult favorite for my childhood, and for the basketball.

Space Jam is a 1996 live-action/animated film that was directed Joe Pytka, produced by Ivan Reitman, Joe Medjuck and Daniel Goldberg, and written by
Leo Benvenuti and three mores of them. This film is a big deal to have a crossover film with Looney Tunes and Basketball with the legendary player Michael Jordan. Not only himself, but also other players appeared in the film with five basketball players.

When the movie came out, it received a bellow average movie, saying that it was a good concept, but not as interesting for our fav stars. Despite the critics, it was picked from the Academy Award in 1997. Pretty ironic for picking a film to considering it as a Guilty Pleasure.

so, with all said, will this movie holds to this day four our favorite cartoon, or is it overshadowed by "Looney Tunes back in action"? (Yeah, il get to that later after the review to do my small thought.)

Lets find out.

The story
It begins in the 80's where Michael Jordan came in with Chicago Bulls and became a star of NBA history. Until he announced his retirement to join in Baseball in 1993. Meanwhile, an intergalactic amusement park planet called "Moron Mountain" owned by Mr. Swackhammer, who wants to taking over the entertainment, mainly Looney Tunes, he sends his minions called "The Nerdlucks" deal them by playing basketball. And of course, The Nerdlucks secretly going to the real world to stealing five players talent, which resulting a scandal for their low performance. Once they steal their talent, they turn themselves into a big beast known as "The Monstars". Because of that, our star of Looney Tunes, Bugs Bunny have a plan to find a hero of basketball, that is Michael Jordan by sucking him into a hole while playing Golf. So its up to Michael and his Looney pals to save the world from The Monstars's challenge.

Though i have to admit, it was pretty creative concept of the story. Even though its an alternate storyline of Michael Jordan, which im ok for that, despite that im not a "Die-Hard" fan of Basketball games, which im more into Hockey, Football, Tennis, Soccer, wrestling and even racing cars like Formula 1. (Just saying.) Not to mention, the movie has a subplot with five players in embarrassment for their low-level of their talent, which i don't know why it shows them for minutes. Well it didn't happen until the end. Since this is a Looney Tunes film, there's a gags in the film. And it was above average, some that i did laugh and some that its more likely "Meh". But other times, it gets a bit immature for the gag. Though the story was interesting, but some that has a lackluster.

The production
This movie was developed with 80 million dollars of budget and have to admit, it looks great, since its a live-action/animation. Its pretty obvious that it was done with green/blue screen when Michael Jordan, Wayne Knight and Bill Murray (Spoiler!) are in the Looney Tunes world. The animation is... Well, what do you expect that this is Warner Bros films with Looney Tunes. Even though it was done with high quality for the character design, which im ok for that. The background looks amazing that its almost like a painting background of cartoon. Sometimes it can be cheaply bad, like the scene where Stan turned turned into a balloon in awkward CGI. Not much else to say, the production looks nice, but sometimes it might be bad for the gimmick.

The characters
Now most of characters are always have fun. Even though there's some that i don't like.

First is Michael Jordan himself, yeah i know that lotta people didn't like him in the movie, because he's not a professional actor, i understand, because its no wonder how we love Michael Jordan. I mean its pretty obvious that in the movie, Michael Jordan is being....   Well, Michael Jordan. Even though he did a nice work, but as professional as i said before. And hey, at least he's not as bad than...   Shaquille O'Neal...!!

Nest is Stan Podolak, played by Wayne Knight (aka Dennis Nedry from Jurassic Park), this guy is easily the weakest of the movie. He's portray as man who not only like a fan, but also publicist to keep an eye on Jordan. He's pretty much useless and being a pushover in the film. But hey, at least he's not as annoying as Al from Toy Story 2.

Now most actors are playing as fictional character, but in the film, they play themselves like Bill Murray (aka Peter Venkman from Ghostbusters), Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Shawn Bradley, Larry Johnson and Muggsy Bogues. It may sounds good on concept, but if only there's a fictional players who got lost the sports skills.

And finally is the cartoon characters. If you've seen Looney Tunes, you're all familiar with those classic characters, Bugs Bunny is a mischievous trickster, Daffy Duck is a raging rival, Tweety Bird is fun little bird, Elmer Fudd is the hunter, Porky is a clumsy pig, Sylvester is an hungry bird as a cat, Tasmanian Devil is one scary killing machine, Wile E Coyote is failing hunter, Road Runner is the fastest one and whole lot more in the list.

But in this movie, they introduced a new character to have a love interest, that is Lola Bunny (Voiced by Kath Soucie), she's a skilled of basketball and she's one cute dol-- I mean bunny. Well yes, i know there's a subplot that she is going to be in relationship with Bugs, even though it was short. And she's rather underrated. I personally like her early look, unlike her later one in "The Looney Tunes show" that not only her voice doesn't fit (Mainly Kristen Wiig), but her personality is just generically as a girl who always, always have crush on bugs. So, sorry, i prefer her old appearance.

As for the villains, well, they're pretty cool and damn creepy.

The Monstars (aka The Nredlucks), these guys looks pretty badass and creepy. Not to mention, some of them are funny that i laugh, especially the blue one name "Blanko". In fact, they could make show about them. I wonder if they'll come back for their cartoon basketball show.

As for the main villain Mr. Swackhammer? He's rather ok. He's much as an evil boss wants to taking over the world like Looney Tunes, because of his failing amusement park planet. Although his design looks creepy, but remind me some other evil cartoon boss.

The characters in the movie are some that are likable to watch, but others isn't worth to enjoy.

And now for my final opinion of this film.
Overall, Space Jam is the film is probably a big fat guilty pleasure for the fans like me. The story is interesting, the production looks good, the animation is great, the acting is rather good, the writing is also interesting and the characters are more than above average. Even though some people seemed to hate this movie (Including Nostalgia Critic), because of a bad random concept or even lack of acting of real life stars. But many people like me love this, because of creative crossover of live-action/animation and fun characters. But come on, its a 90's movie.

If you're a fan of Looney Tunes or Basketball, this one is for you. If not, well, i probably let you guys stick to "The Bugs Bunny show" or any other show with shorts.

So, il rate this movie 8.5/10.

And btw, you're probably wondering about my small thoughts of "Looney Tunes back in action"?  Personally, i don't think its an interesting movie that could've been fun. So no, i don't think il watch it after looked at the trailer or even a small clip. Sorry Joe Dante.

So this ends of my review, if you have your opinion or any suggestions, let me know at the comments bellow.

And don't worry, maybe il coming back to do more review. So thanks for reading, and im Anthony, signing out.

Anthony's movie review: Sausage Party.

Warning: This review contains...  *sigh* You know what?! I don't know how many times i warn you guys, this is a Rated-Fucking-R movie. So, yeah, readers discretion advised...    Bitch

*run away to hide somewhere outside of Human's house, because my food gangs where being tortured for its dinner of death, as im a sausage*

Oh my god... I can't believe that goddamn monster just kill my friends... Jesus fucking Christ...

Oh, um... Hey everyone, my name is Anthony the sausage and welcome back to my movie review.

Well, i guess this is gonna be my first review that i watched a Rated-R animated movie. Its pretty rare that never get a Rated-R movies in nowaday before Sausage Party, there're few of them back in the past like Felidae, Heavy Metal even the early Rated-X film called Fritz the cat. Most animated films right now is almost full of family flick, while some others is not for them, but rather for adulthood for violence and maybe sex.

So today, im going to review a film that we finally get a return of animated film for adults like me, that is Sausage Party. Sausage Party is a 2016 adult animated film that was directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon, produced by Megan Ellison and even Seth Rogen, which not only Rogen acts in the film, but also a producer and a writer. I mean, Seth had a lottta business for an animated film.

So, with all that said, can this movie holds up for the return of Rated-R animated movie, or is this film that i'd rather being eaten by a going monster?

Lets find out.

The story
As you know, this is likely a spoof of Toy Story with foods. Its about Frank the sausage and his love interest Brenda the hot-dog bun who live in the Supermarket for hang out each other. However, they're being separated from a shopping kart after a freak accident from Douche. they're staying in the Supermarket, but they split up for a long hours. but then when Frank lost his sausage friends from the owner, he meets Firewater who explains that when the foods and other items is in the houses that they referred as "The great beyond" and humans referred as "Gods", they'll be tortured by "The God" thet they'll never be nice with that they're a giant monsters. so Frank has to find the way to stop them to saving foods and other items life once and for all.
I gotta say, i find it pretty creative for the story, that its all about saving foods life to stay away from humans. However, it got a bit mixed up that i was a bit confused what i followed the story, either Frank has to save everyone's life from humans or even Frank has to fighting at Douche. But as i knew, its about survival from humans. But there's a subplot where Barry the sausage who's trying to escape the village of humans to reuniting Frank, which is a bit wasted, but its only one that we like to see a reunion. Speaking of subplot, there's one that has small tour with Brenda and her gang with Sammy Bagel, Teresa del Taco and Kareem, which its just a waste that it has nothing to do with a main plot. As for the jokes, well, they're plenty of them that i laugh, it has crude jokes, food jokes and even some sexual joke. However, the final act is fun, but not as good for the ending thats just wrapping up, but i won't tell whats happening for spoilers.
Even though the story is a bit mixed up from subplots, but its pretty creative to watch and laugh.

The animation
Surprisingly, this isn't a typical animation fil of Disney, Pixar, Blue sky nor Dreamworks. This one was done by a company name Nitrogen Studios. Anyway, the animation itself that i gotta say, its actually entertaining than Happily n'ever after and even better than Foodfight.
The animation looks pretty good with for a new quality and texture, i guess they had a lot of money since they released a lot of Direct-To-Films of Thomas and friends with ugly CGI to ruining childhoods. The animation style that it was good, but some part that it moves like 2D style that i'd rather watch a drawn animation. Speaking of 2D, the movie also have a hand drawn scene that i find it interesting, but its only shown from the first act. The background looks pretty cool to look at from Supermarket, houses and on small town. As for the character designs, the food characters are look pretty interesting, but some of them didn't work well, like the hot dog buns that although looks beautiful, but its their mouths that they only moves on vertical that i find it creepy. As for the humans, it was mixed that some of them is good, some are plain fan-service with female big hips and some that find them either ugly or creepy.
The animation was great, but some parts that i find it creepy that it would be good idea on hand drawn.

The characters
The characters are mixed of either interesting or rather not good enough for development, which some foods come from various countries.

First, there's Frank (voiced by Seth Rogen), he'a main character who i think he's supposed to be a brave hero in the movie to save every foods. Even though he may or may not have personality, i mean he's much as Seth Rogen, even though Rogen did a great work of his role.

Next, there's Branda (voiced by Kristen Wiig), she's an obvious love interest of the movie and im pretty sure she's supposed to be a blond character of the movie. And...   Nice bun, Branda.

Then there's Sammy Bagel (surprisingly voiced by Edward Norton), he's the one that im pretty sure he's supposed to be a serious character. Im not sure if he's either have it or no development. Even though Norton did an interesting work.

Next, there's Kareem Abdul Lavash (voiced by David Krumholtz), he's character with Armenian stereotype, which it make sense for lavash that it came from Armenia. Though he's a character that i did laugh at him.

And a final main hero is Teresa del Taco (voiced by Salma Hayek), who's a lustful friend of Brenda, with lesbian personality. Even though im disappointed that she could've be look sexy for her body, but at least her face looks beautiful.

There's a few other good characters like  Firewater (voiced by Bill Hader) a Native American for a plot advice about "Gods", which i find him pretty cool to give us a development, Barry (voiced by Michael Cera) who's a friend of Frank and Gum (voiced by Scott Underwood) who's like Stephan Hawking in gum wad.

And our main villain is Douche (voiced by Nick Kroll), i find him pretty disturbing, he's a  feminine hygiene product who's looking for revenge at Frank and he looks insane whenever he sucks every liquid characters. He's like The Joker in Douche with random liquid-ish vampire. Pretty creepy and probably interesting, but he has a small appearance before the final act.

As for the rest like other foods, well they shown for their development with jokes. and for the humans, well, they're either have development (like one guy who addicted on drugs) or some doesn't.

The characters are above average that they're either fun or some that are useless.

And now for my final opinion of the film
Overall, Sausage Party is pretty good R-rated film, the story is creative, the animation looks great and the characters are fun and the jokes are made me chuckle that they work, since this is a animated black comedy. Even though some other characters wasn't as good to expecting and the final act wasn't as interesting. Even though its nice for the return of Rated-R animated film. If you like to see a spoof animated film in adult ways, this one is for you. If not, well i suggest you should going back to a family flicks.

So, im gonna rate this movie 8/10.

So this--

Corporate Driver (in Douche): *jumps at me and stands on me* There you are! I am so sick and tired with all those stupid positive review of all my plans doesn't work!! So now you will die you Fuck-wad!

Oh yeah? You'll never put me down you Douchebag!! *punch on his face*

Mayonnaise (female): *looks at me and Corporate* Wait, did he just calling a Douche as a "Douchebag"? *snickers*

Blue Gumball (male): *starts to laugh* Oh my god... Nice one, sausage boy... XD

*every foods starts laughing at Corporate Driver that he was called "Douchebag"*

Bottle of Soda (male): Holy Shit! That is soo funny! X'3

Corporate Driver: What...?! What the fuck what that?! Why is it funny that im a Douchebag?!?! STOP!!! STOP LAUGHING AT ME!!!!!

*But then, a janitor walks in, resulting everyone is panicking, except for me and Corporate*

Janitor (female): Hmmm... *picks up Corporate Driver* Is he expired?

Corporate Driver: No!! Nononoo!!! Put me down!! Put me down you big bitch!!!

Janitor: *after she verified* Yup, its expired. *throws him to a trash bag*

Corporate Driver: *falls on the bag that he'll be disappeared* NOOOOOOoooooo....!!!

Haha! Bye bye, Douchebag! X3

A sexy hot dog bun: Nice one kid. Can we like to hang out each other~?

Um... Sure, il accept to coming with you.

A sexy hot dog bun: *giggles* Nice one, come with me, baby~

So this ends of my review, if you have your opinion of any suggestions, let me know at the comments bellow.

Now if you excuse me, i gotta have fun with miss bun, thanks for reading and im Anthony the sausage, signing out.

Anthony's movie review: Suicide Squad

*look at the critics review* Hmm...  They seem to hated it... But some people said that its good. This is gonna be hard though if its good or bad. Only way to find out...

*several hours later*

...  Wow...  This is...  Actually good?  But how...?

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review.

Last time, i reviewed Batman V Superman and it was a biggest disappointment film i've ever watch in my life, with no story, unlikable characters and it feels like it was done by Michael Bay... Which i was prayed to hope that Suicide Squad is gonna be better.

And so, since it came out, the critics in websites seem to hate this movie that they felt that it was badder than Batman V Superman. But the people in social media defended that this movie was surprisingly good. Which it made me feel confused that i don't know how did the critics hated it. But sometimes, the fans is taking too seriously that, like i said before, they made a petition to remove some sites like RottenTomatoes.com. I mean come on, im sick and tired of B****ery, we criticized whatever we want to tell either in internet or not.

Anyway, if you anyone never know if you are, Suicide Squad is a second DC universe film that it came out this year with Batman V Superman. But it was not made by "Zack Shnyder", instead, it was directed by David Ayer, but he also wrote this movie. and it was based on a comic as well.

So, with all that said, is this really gonna be a good DC film, or is gonna be the same as Batman V Superman?

Lets find out.

The story
After Superman died (Spoiler!!!), an official government name Amanda Waller was on plan about the prisoners for their mission to be good, despite they're bad guys, along with Colonel Rick Flag. What it happened is that one girl name June Moone was possessed to transforming into an evil witch named Enchantress who capture a victim to turning into her brother, Incubus. As it was reported that Enchantress grows her dark power to taking over the world, Amanda sends out prisoners, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc, El Diablo, Slipknot and Rick's bodyguard named Katana has to stop Enchantress's threat, but the catch is they the military put a small bomb inside the prisoners's body that if they escape or losing their mission, they'll die.
Well, i gotta say, it was actually a pretty good story. Its like "Yes! Finally DC listened our words to have a better story than before.". Even though some people felt the writing isn't that good, but for me, it was rather good. There's even a subplot where The Joker wanted to bring back Harley from Suicide Squad. I know that Harley had a crush on him, but im not sure why it was on the main plot. I guess its because they want to see more of The Joker. Not to mention, the movie has a sense of humor, i did chuckle from the dialogue for these characters. I mean, i know that some bad guys has a sense of humor.
Despite the lackluster of subplot, but the story was very good is if that it followed the comic, even though i never read the comic of Suicide Squad...

The production
I gotta that the production work was pretty good, not only its dark, but its also colorful. The action sequence was pretty cool and yet intense. But some say that the editing isn't as perfect, but it may not matter when i watched. I also like that the movie shows our characters in the movie, its as if that they finally make a characters development. But i have two problems of this film. First, the music is just mixed. Despite the composure was good, but its the additional music that its just too obvious that you probably recognized from the radio like Bohemian  Rhapsody by Queen, Paranoid by Ozzy Osbourne, Without me by Eminem, Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by ACDC. I mean its just too much that it needs to put less than 2 or 3. I know you guys may like it, but thats just my opinion. And second, this is another film that its been two hours. I mean i was constipated painfully that i need to go to the bathroom for a piss! Seriously, does this 2 hours films keep going? Its gonna hurt my D*** while watching it. Finally, i read the internet that the film was supposed to have more scenes with The Jokers, but most of them was cut, which i think they'll be in deleted scenes and finallym the film was originally to have King Shark, but the character was replaced by Killer Croc, which i think its because they have no enough budget for a CGI model of a humanoid shark. Aw well, at least King Shark was already shown in live-action in the episode of The Flash of Arrowverse.
Although the work was great, but the musical numbers is way to obvious and its hurting me for two hours film...

The characters
Unlike Batman V Superman, the characters actually likable in this film.

First is Deadshot (played by Will Smith), this guy is pretty cool, but he's not as dangerous than Deathstroke. Despite he's an elite hit-man. He has a cool gadgets like he has like two wrist guns which it pretty damn cool idea. Plus, the movie is try to give a tiny drama where he has a daughter he loves her, since he's a hit-man criminal. He's a cool bad guy of the group and Smith is impressive.

Next is Harley Quinn (played by Margot Robbie), she's probably a fan favorite in the movie, because not only she's pretty sexy, but she's such a crazy girl with a sense of humor (ever since she had a crush with The Joker), but sometimes she can be a bit creepy for her look (despite that she was splashed to the pool of acid like The Joker did in New 52 world). And if you're wondering about her classic jester outfit, well she did wears it for some part in the first act for her character development. She's beautiful, fun and Margot is also did a great job of her role.

Third member, but the leader of the group is Rick Flag (played by Joel Kinnaman), at first i though he was played by Chris Pratt, but that was a different person for my silly thought. Anyway, he's almost like a boss of the group, since he's a colonel. But he's pretty cool guy, despite that i though he's a neutral, but he did changed up to be friend with the group.

Fourth member is Captain Boomerang (played by Jai Courtney), i find him pretty cool, even though he's a bit crazy. Like Deadshot, he has a cool gadgets, like a bomb of boomerang. Also, he likes his pink unicorn. Yeah, i kinda don't like his development, sorry. But he's still looks cool and yet a bit insane.

Fifth member is Killer Croc (played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje What...?), he's rather average, which i know its because Killer Croc is supposed to be a big humanoid reptile, but i guess its because they have no enough budget for him, so they decide to give the actor a makeup. He's like a small humanoid reptile of The Incredible Hulk, in average. But he did has a sense of humor.

Sixth member is El Diablo (played by Jay Hernandez), this guy looks a bit badass since he has a fire power. But i said "A bit badass", because like Deadshot, he has a sympathy for his past, due to the fact that he had a bad family since he's a crime that he killed his own family. What a bummer for him, i kinda feel bad for him. But he did tries to get a comeback from Deadshot for his ultimate flamethrower of his hands.

Seventh member is Katana (played by Karen Fukuhara for her film role debut), although she's a body guard of Rick Flag, i find her pretty badass that she doesn't give a S***. Even though she may only speaks Japanese, which im very surprised for Karen's speaking performance. But like two others, she has a drama that she lost her husband. I don't know why it has that, but its just nothing. Though she's still a badass member, since she's not a prisoner.

Finally there's the big boss for Suicide Squad is Amanda Waller (played by Viola Davis), this girl is pretty ruthless for a deadly rule for the prisoners. She ambitious and devious woman in the film. Plus, Viola said that she's fascinated for her role as a "powerful black woman of the order". If i was in Suicide Squad, il be a bit nervous from Amanda's order for the group, since she's pretty damn ruthless.

There's also Slipknot for the group but lets be honest, he's not really interesting, because he's the only one was short-lived. Bummer...

So we get the group out of the way, lets talk about the villains.

First up is The Joker (played by Jared Leto). I know that lotta people are debating who's the better role of The Joker like Jack Nicholsen in Tim Burton's Batman, Mark Hamill in voice action cartoons or video games and even the late Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. Anyway, Leto's Joker that i can easily like to say... He looks pretty creepy as hell! With his white skin, tattoos and his silver teeth. I guess the makeup artist did a horrific work for Leto's look of his role. Despite that he's a psychopathic villain, but he also has a small Shakespearean which im not sure if it works or not. Even though he's kinda wasted for his role for a subplot that he wants Harley Quinn back. Despite his flaws, but he's one creepy son of a B****.

Finally there's Enchantress (played by Cara Delevingne), when i first saw her, i was like "What..? Another creepy looking character? Well, i guess DC loves to the scare the S*** at the fans like me... ^^;". Anyway, despite creepy, but she's also looks beautiful. Plus, she's powerful with her dark power to taking over the world, she has mist teleport, transforming forms and pretty fast. Plus she also has her assistant brother Incubus and man he's huge like twices taller than humans. If only that there's a way to defeat her with Voodoo spell, just saying.

And finally, some heroes has a small appearance like Ben Affleck's Batman and The Flash (played by Erza Miller). But i like to say is "Wow spoiler alert! You just reveal The Flash's costume!". But i guess its because we're waiting for them for Justice League movie in 2017.

And now for my final thoughts of this film.
Overall, this movie much better that was expecting. The story is good, the characters are likable and production looks amazing. Even though it has a flaws like the musical numbers, the subplot, a very long films of 2 hours with my painful constipation and i understand why many people was clearly upset over the critics. I mean this is probably a big fat guilty pleasure films for the fans like me. Its much better than Batman V Superman and i might say that i recommend to watch this movie. Its probably a better DC universe films.

So, i rate this movie a 8/10.

So this ends of my review, if you have your opinion or any suggestions, let me know at the comments bellow.

Anthony's movie review: Star Trek Beyond

Space... The final frontier... These are the voyagers of the star ship Enterprise, its five-year mission, to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before...

*appear from transport of Enterprise* Wow... Its been an extreme voyage where i meet Kirk and Spock to exploring in multiple of weird planets!

Anyway, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review. So, what can i say about Star Trek, its one of the most legendary sci-fi with Star Wars (But Star Trek came out in 1966, eleven years before Star Wars), the series is all about exploration is various plants and even fighting against evil aliens like Klingons, Romulans and more of them around in galaxy.

The original show became popular that it made new show to have new characters and even movies for the story line. But one that i saw was the 2009 Star Trek by the most surprising director J.J. Abram, the same guy who brought back Star Wars in 2015. He directed 1 and 2, but not the third one, although he produced three of them. So he brought Justin Lin to direct the third one.

I saw the first one, but i never seen "Star Trek Into Darkness". ^^; So today, i went to watch the third one, because not only i skipped to third one, but its also my father's birthday, because he's a fan of Star Trek. Even though im not part of Trekkies, im more into a fanboy of Star Wars. ^^;

So, with all that said, can this movie will be a good third one, or is it gonna be a badly third film since others like Terminator 3?

Lets find out.

The story
After three years in five-year mission with Enterprise, Captain James Kirk and his crews arrives into a Starbase Yorktown (Wow, fascinating), Kirk meet up with Vice Admiral for a new plan if Spock will become a new captain, Sulu reunites his family, Scotty is struggling for operating the ship and Spock received a message that Ambassador Spock (aka Leonard Nemoy :'() is dead. But then one survivor name Kalara came to tell the crew about her ship was stranded on the planet called Altamid, so Kirk accepts. But when they reached to the planet, they got swarmed by a swarm of ships, lead by a commander name Krall as he want to stealing a relic called "Abronath" to destroy any planets. When the Enterprise was crashed in the planet, they have to find some ship to get out. Meanwhile, Scotty meet a female scavenger name Jaylah, who betrayed Krall for losing her parents. So Kirk and his crews has not only find a ship, but also fight Krall's evil plan.

Now to be fair. the story feels a bit similar from the first one, but with a creative an interesting subplot, which is is all about finding a new ship. The difference is in the first fim is about Romulan and the third one is Krall. Although it splits the plot with characters are separated, with Kirk and Chekov find something for a new ship. Spock and McCoy find somewhere to save Spock's life that he was wounded, Scooty meets Jaylah and Sulu, Uhura and the other crews are captured by Krall. Plus, it has some sense of humor dialogue that it made me chuckle, mainly because the movie was also written by Simon Pegg. But the third act is although its a good action, but i won't spoil that some that doesn't make any sense. If you wanna know, watch it, you know what i mean. >_>'
Though its a bit formulaic from the first one, but its pretty interesting idea with a mix.

The production
The budget of the film when they developed was over 185 million dollars. And i gotta say, it was pretty good work. The background and the environment in location are pretty cool for the sci-fi. Even though this is all done with CGI. Aside from CG, they also filmed in countries location like Dubai in UAE and Seoul in South Korea. Before them, they filmed in British Colombia, Canada, right after a delayed script. The clothes of the main crews are pretty much the same as the original one, but adding texture of futuristic. As for the alien force of Krall, they looks pretty damn cool. Even though its kinda sad that the Enterprise was destroyed in the first act, but don't worry, it will be back. And man... This is another movie is been 2 hours to watching since i was painfully constipating without going to the restroom of peeing. XC
Either way, the production was great, but you think they could tone down the time for watching without in pain?

The characters
For all of you Trekkies out there, you're all familiar with the characters.

First is Captain James Kirk (played by Chris Pine), he's a main officer of USS Enterprise. Even though he replaced William Shatner, but i think Pine did a great job of his role. He had a good work for a few stunts, nice lines and probably likable.

Next is Spock, the Vulcan of the first officer of USS (played by Zachary Quinto). Again, even though he replaced the late Leonard Nemoy, but he also did a good job, he's serious, intelligent and... Tributic for Nemoy.

Finally there's Chekov, the navigator of Enterpise (played by Anton Yelchin), he's also an interesting character, since he's a Russian character, even though i never heard of him. The reason why i talk about Chekov a bit, its because sadly, before the film's release, Anton Yelchin died of fatal car crash on the brick pillar outside of his home Studio City with his age of 27 on June 19, 2016. Even though i never heard of him, but its pretty sad for his death. Rest in peace, Anton. :(

There's more crews like Scotty (played by Simon Pegg) is the engineer, McCoy (played by Karl Urban) is a chief medic, Uhura (played by Zoe Saldana) is the only main female of USS as a communicator, Sulu (played by John Cho) is a third officer and helmsman.

There two more characters that il talk about with my opinion.

First there's Jaylah (played by Sofia Boutella), at first, she kinda reminds me of Rey from Star Wars, in alien form. But to be fair, she's pretty cool, despite a bit taking serious at the crews of USS and only appears in second act. I wonder what if she signed as a new member of USS in the fourth film.

Finally there's Krall, and alien who wants to taking over the galaxy (Played by... Idris Elba again??? 0_0). He looks pretty badass thanks to his look and also dangerous for his evil plan. and man, this is the third time i mentioned Idris Elba. ^^;

And now for my final opinion of this film.
Although im not a fan of Star Trek, but it was actually pretty good. With creative subplot of story, interesting characters and fascinating production. But some people hated this movie that its the weakest of the third movie. i understand their opinion if its bad. But for me, its just a bit too long to watch and the final act is probably the weakest part of the film. If you love this movie, go watch it. If not, well maybe you should stick to the 2009 one.

So, il rate this movie a 7/10.
