Movie Review: Venom

*starts in the alleyway*

Corporate Driver: *being tossed to the wall and tries to running away* Oh no...!! Get away from me!!

Anthony: *seriously walks at CD*

Corporate Driver: *crawls back* Go away...!! *grabs a empty bottle and throws on his knee*

Anthony: *gets hit but a bottle and tripped on the ground in pain on his knee*

Corporate Driver: *gets up and approaching him* Now, how'd you like that apple, kid?

Corporate Driver: No... No!!!

Venom (Anthony): Eyes... Lungs... Pancreas... So many snacks... So little time...

Secretary Driver: Hey you freak!! *grabs her gun to shoot him, but didn't effect from symbiote's body* Huh?!

Venom (Anthony): *looks at her then throws CD at SD like a rag doll and runs away by climbing on the wall to go back home*

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome my new movie review with Halloween special. For this special, i decided to do three parts of my movie in this month of October, minus one called "First Man", which it has nothing to do with my Halloween special, because i will talk about next week.

Anyway, from many years ago, i always a huge fan of Spider-man to see various villains that we all know, like Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Electrode, The Lizard or even Symbiote. When the 80's kicked in, comics are started to focus with dark with violence, disturbance and possibly fan-service, since in the late 70's where Gwen Stacy tragically died from Spider-man's (supposed) saving her from Green Goblin, causing the end of Silver age.

Since i like some Marvel characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Deadpool or The Punisher, but the one is like my number one favorite Anti-hero is Venom. Created by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane (Yup, the same guy who created Spawn), Eddie Brock was started lone, stressed and depressed person where after he got fired from Daily Globe for making fake news about the wrong identity, not only he got fired, but also lost his apartment and his wife, that is until he was unexpectedly bonded by Symbiote in the church to seeking revenge at Spider-man and the rest is history.

Since we love Venom, we really want to see Eddie/Venom on the big screen. Such as Spider-Man 3 and it was...  Yeah, its not a very good casting choice with Topher Grace, an absolute embarrassment of our favorite character...  But after several years, we heard a report that Sony is gonna make a standalone movie with Venom and having Tom Hardy as a main role.

"Venom" is a 2018 superhero film directed by Ruben Fleischer, produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach

 and Amy Pascal, and written by Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel (only for screenplay).

When i first heard about it, i was anticipating to see it and hope it will be better than Spider-man 3. From the development, the film was supposed to be a spin-off from Sam Raimi's Spider-man, but it got scrapped due to the decline from the third installment. But since Disney is already own Marvel, it will be pretty difficult to have Venom in MCU, since Sony own the rights. so, they decided to making their own Marvel Universe aside from MCU. And we're expected that the film was supposed to be R-Rated, since was known to be a anti-hero for murdering any bad guys like Deadpool did, but it was tone down to PG-13, which the potential is about to be concerned before the release, but hoped for the better.

So, with all that said, will this standalone holds up for Sony's first Marvel Universe film, or is it really deserves to crawling away from a high pitch frequency?

Well, lets find out.

The Story

It begins where a ship from "Life Foundation" was crash landing in the forest of Malaysia, they originally has four alien beings called "Symbiotes", but one of them broke out to bonding one pilot to breaking out of ambulance. Meanwhile, we introduce our main hero names Eddie Brock, who works as an investigation reporter of the news. However, while reporting of Life Foundation, he was on interview with the founder name Carlton Drake about their experiment, but also about the lawsuit that Drake doesn't want to hear about, which ended up where Brock confronting that he wants the truth, but the damage was done that he got fired and a break up from his love interest name Anne Weying. Six months later, he was on his own and wishes to be better than Life Foundation, but meets one scientist name Dora Skirth, but Dora wanted to talk to him for the secret truth about the foundation, which they're making experiment with Symbiote, which she asks him to check in, he accepted (despite the blame from the first meet) that she let him break in to see the evidence, but not before one subject was begging to break free, he did, but gone wrong when the Symbiote transferring at Brock. After that, he's starting to losing his control where he proceeds to eating his foods or even driving insane that he wanted to call for help. Despite that, he was also being targeted by Life, which they want the one Symbiote that Brock was bonded, its up to Eddie for not only survive himself, but also keeping Symbiote for its reason.

I find that the story itself is rather interesting, even though it would've give more interesting development, especially about the Symbiotes aside from Venom and Riot, say bonding at someone for the hosts, but no, they let one of them died from the lack of oxygen without the important host. But as far that i know, it rather focuses Eddie Brock and his Symbiote Venom for the development, but other times the writing could be questionable, especially some dialogues like "Going down to the street, like a turd in wind", like what the heck is this meaning?? And some moment are ended up with a filler, like the scene where Eddie sent a message to the news station for some reason, but does this have to do with the plot? Nothing. But of course, they even add some sense of humor lines, which i did chuckle from either a dialogue or even some moment, like where Eddie doesn't want to jump down, but using an elevator, which Venom is not very please for his "Pussy" decision, i mean i have to admit, it made me laugh.

The story and writing is not bad, but i wish if they could give more development to make it more interesting like the army of Symbiotes.

The Production

Since this is the first Sony's Marvel Universe film, how's the presentation holds up?

First of all, the filming location is actually nice, since it takes place in San Francisco, California. Which i guess they're following the setting from the comic that instead of New York (for only Spider-Man), it goes to SF for Venom like in his own comic "Venom: lethal protector". Then they also film the other location to pretend that its Malaysia, even though it was filming not only Francisco, but also Atlanta and New York. I don't know, maybe its the limit of their budget without going in Malaysia.

The action scenes are pretty cool from chasing in the forest, attacking the SWAT and the bike chase scene. Though the bike scene is probably cliche, but i find it to be pretty creative with Symbiote. As for the Symbiotes, i find the effects of these are pretty cool and kinda creepy, way better than the one from Spider-Man 3 they it moves like a crawling hands, even though it looks ok, but the effects in this movie is probably more better for the quality and their creepy moves. Sometimes, the movie gives us a jumpscare, such as when Eddie went in pain from high pitch frequency or where Riot was transformed and probably acting like Christian Bale's Batman. However, i heard that they're originally doing a motion capture to playing as Venom and Riot, but due to the difficulty for the physical and the facial, they decided to changed it in CG, the CG effect of Venom and Riot are not bad that i can say, but at least their designs are better than Spider-Man 3.

But of course, the main criticism of this movie is that it was supposed to be R rated movie that we like to see since the previous Marvel films of X-Men universe like Logan and Deadpool. But because they wanted to make a future crossover with MCU Spider-Man, they decided to tone the violent down with PG-13 rated, which again, causing a concerning potential that it'll fail. But the violent is kinda there, i mean there's some body count where Venom eating a victim's head off and some of dialogues with swearing, especially some moment with an F-bomb. I mean, are you sure you could, i don't know, change your mind to going back to R or something...?

The production of this movie is pretty cool kinda like MCU, but as i may agree with the fans, i still wish if this movie should've been an R-rated movie, even if they could've ask Disney for a violent content for Venom.

The Characters

We expected that this movie would have some likable characters? Well, its rather a mixed bag.

First is Eddie Brock, aka Venom (played by Tom Hardy, aka Bane from "The Dark Knight Rises"), we definitely agree that he's probably a likable character in the movie. As i said, he started a lone and a blamer for what he deserves better than Life Foundation. But when he got bonded by the Symbiote, everything went different to him, he's more like a puppet that he was forced to do so, including where he was forced to eat something or other times driving insane from his mind. Not to mention, Tom also providing the voice of Venom, and i think his voice is pretty cool for creepiness or even his dark sense of humor. Though i haven't seen either Mad Max Fury Road or even The Dark Knight Rises, but like i said, he's easily a better role in this movie.

Then we have our main antagonist named Carlton Drake (played by Riz Ahmed), i find him to be rather an average villain, he's just a typical big boss of his foundation to change the world with Symbiotes. Though Riz did a nice work, but his character would've been more interesting for maybe more development. and for a fourth Symbiote "Riot", im pretty sure you know who belongs to...

Speaking of "need more development", there are few others that i have no others to say. Anne Weying (played by Michelle Williams) who's not only Eddie's ex-fiancee, but also an district attorney, though Michelle did a not bad role, Dr. Dan Lewis (played by Reid Scott) who's a generic new love interest of Anne, but at least he's not a douchebag persona, but more a helper at Eddie's danger, Dora Skirth (played by Jenny Slate) who's a scientist who turned against the foundation secretly and yes, Stan Lee is always making his cameo in this movie, don't miss him if you blink.

The characters have a nice casts, but some of their developments would've been have a chance of likability like Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock.

And now for my final opinion of this film.

Overall, when it first came out, the critics gave a bellow average reception with poor tone and questionable writing. But i disagree with them, because... Its not the worst superhero film, its more like a big fat guilty pleasure like Suicide Squad. The writing is not bad, the story is interesting for the main focus of Brock, the presentation looks pretty cool (at least its not as overdose of darkness like Godzilla 2014 for cinematography.) and  characters are a mixed bag that some are great like Eddie Brock, but others are rather boring and would've been a well-written characters.

Like i said, i am disagree at the critics for how "bad" it is, i mean its not the worst superhero film ever made, i mean i had seen worse in this year which i won't compare, otherwise it'll make suffer PTSD. Does this film is recommend to watch?  Well, i'd say yes, its more likely a biggest request for Spider-Man fans, Venom fans and even Marvel fans as well. But i don't think il consider a perfect film like Infinity War or Incredibles 2. Its a good film, but with flaws that it should've been. But, i guess we have to wait that we like to see a rivalry between Tom Holland's Spider-man and Tom Hardy's Venom.

I gave this movie a 7.5/10. Go watch it if you want, which again, i recommend this one for first Marvel film outside of MCU by Sony.

Movie Review: Godzilla 2014

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review.

Let me start off by saying that, i love Godzilla. He's easily considered the "King of Kaiju", or better known as "King of giant monsters". Godzilla was like a grandfather of giant monster from the decade ago, though the first one was King Kong. He was introduced in 1954, which is less than a decade after the atomic bomb blast in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War 2 and was born from nuclear radiation, appearing a dinosaur like T-Rex, a crocodile for the skin (kinda) and Stegosaurus for the spiky spine. And of course, in Japan, it was known as "Gojira", while in western, we like to translating him as "Godzilla". From many years, Godzilla was appeared either a bad guy of destruction, or a good guy for saving out world from evil Kaijus. Though some films are great, but others are flat out embarrassment... *cough "Godzilla's Revenge" cough*

Since Godzilla was popular, in western like US, they wanted to cashing in with Godzilla like comic, video games and even a cartoon, most of then are either good or other times, desperate for the fans of King of Kaiju. Especially with the 1998 one by the same director of "Independence Day", which is the worst adaptation i've ever watched, but im not gonna talk about it in the future. Im talking about one that its actually a good one from four years ago.

"Godzilla 2014" is...  Well, a 2014 Kaiju film directed by Gareth Edwards (Who later directing Star Wars Rogue One), produced by Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, Mary Parent and Brian Rogers, and written by Max Borenstein (for screenplay) and David Callaham (for story).

When i first heard that they made a second remake of our beloved giant monster from Japan, i was anticipating to see it, since they made it look much better than the 1998 version, although with some different than before, is having their own original enemy monster not made by Toho and it was the first installment of "MonsterVerse", which is the franchise of Kaiju content, which i be curious what they're going to making. However, i wanted to see it in 2014, but i haven't seeing it, until 4 years later that i managed to watching this movie with my DVD.

So, with all that said, will this movie will be a better reboot, or is this movie makes the 1998 version watchable?

Well, lets find out.

The Story
Im sure if you're probably familiar about Godzilla's birth, right? Well, not only that, but they also want to include their own enemy monsters rather than focusing only Godzilla like the original.

It started in 1954, where after WWII, there has been a witness report about an ancient predator Godzilla was lurking in the ocean they the military was attempting to throw their nuke to kill big G. Then at 1999, a Monarch scientists Ishiro Serizawa and Vivienne Graham went to the mining station about a giant skeleton on underground, but noticed a hole, which some say there's another giant monster. Meanwhile in Nuclear Power Plant, lead engineer Joe Brody brought his wife Sandra for checking the reactor, but little that they unnoticed, there's a massive earthquake that Joe wanted to save his wife, but the damage was sadly already done that his wife is gonna die from the plant collapsing. Then fast forward to modern time (2014), we introduced our main hero and the son of Joe, named Ford Brody, who works as an officer of U.S. Navy. But he was asked by his father to looking for his father's lost discs from the past about the earthquake. But once they founded, they got arrested for trespassing quarantine zone of Janjira. Once our heroes was taken to interrogation (well, only Joe for interrogation), it goes to an earthquake from nuclear-life egg goes hatching to a radioactive monster that it causes to breaking out (and one part where Joe was killed off), but then witness report from the military that there's a similar one look from the one got hatched, they named them as "MUTOs" (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism), they goal is to capturing the radioactive stuff to get more energy to the female MUTO. But then, the Navy and the Japanese scientists witnessed that Godzilla is returned from decade that he's confronting against MUTOs, its up the military and our hero Ford to stop MUTOs once and for all, even though that Godzilla is more of a anti-hero for rampaging a bit.

The story is actually interesting to say, like i said, instead of just Godzilla going rampage, it goes to a typical Kaiju fight, but having a nuclear monster vs nuclear devouring monsters. But the downside is that they focused a bit too much of humans than giant monsters, but its more likely a plot convenient to explain about these giant monsters, which it make sense, but the execution could be above average. Another one that i have a problem is having a father and son relation from the first act, i know its because Joe need a help with his son Ford for the truth, but ended up into a cliche subplot that Joe is a typical father who's killed off shortly after, like did we heard it before? Another subplot is the military, which they thought it will be a good idea by bringing a nuclear warheads, which it sounds good on paper, but it is said that it might wiping out in half of the lands since WWII, however, it probably ended up unnecessary that it nearly failed, due to the female MUTO is devouring the warheads in half. I mean, it would've been better if the Navy using a warheads as a bait at the female one to going somewhere until Godzilla is gonna beat the S*** out of her.

Though the story is just a typical Kaiju throw down, but the execution is pretty good for a plot development, but other times, it was suffered with unnecessary subplot or even cliche.

The Production
From before, when i heard they're doing a production to be based on the Real Godzilla rather than different, i was hoping for a good presentation, but it actually done pretty good, most of it.

First up, the locations looks pretty cool, since it was obviously takes place from Japan, Hawaii then USA. It may have a good look that it takes place, but its pretty obvious that since this is a Kaiju film, it has to be a typical rampaged city. But some places that we've seen on the trailer are unfortunately cut, like the statue of Liberty, which i guess its because they don't want to disgrace the American's favorite statue, which sometimes she was already being abused before. *hint hint*

Aside that, but one that i think its the best part with humans, is the scene of "HALO jump", when we see our main hero and soldiers jumps down, we feel like a rollercoaster, but more like skydiving. But the downside is that it was used for the third act, but at least the trailer didn't spoiled the movie, i guess they just like to show off the jump scene.

What about the Kaijus?
Well, about Godzilla himself, he looks much accurate as the original than the 1998 version it looks bad fictional dinosaur. But this one is pretty good looking, even though his body seems to be large, but again, its not the worst looking Godzilla i've ever seen. Plus, seeing him using his signature atomic breath is well deserve of surprise, i mean im pretty the people in the theater are cheering when he does his fire breath scene, but of course, he does it two times. However, his famous roar didn't borrowed from Toho that we all know, instead it was revamped with musical key and the cadence of roar, not bad i might say.

As for our main villain MUTOs?
They looks pretty cool, even it was confusing at first when we first see these two similar design villains, but different. The female one should be the main focus, but she looks like what if Gigan and Cloverfield, but with extra legs and nuclear for devouring. As for the male one, aside of same design, but he's less bigger than the female one and he has wings. Even though they don't have any threatening powers, their main power is EMP, not bad, but would've better for extra more powers.

But the productions has some problems.
First, we expected that we like to see a Godzilla and MUTOs fight together. Well, the first one happens on Hawaii where Godzilla fighting against the female one, but it was cut that we can briefly see on the TV news, which is flat out unfair for Kaiju fans like myself included. Though the real fight scene didn't happen until the third act, which is pretty cool, even though its kinda shame that its a one vs two, but hey, at least Godzilla might be stronger for his power.
And lastly, the cinematography is although it looks pretty cool, but it got worse that it went dark, like train scene in the night and Kaiju fight is too dark of blackness, like we can't see what's going on. It makes the cinematography so bad that its nearly nothing but black, it would've been they could finalizing to adjust the lighting, but they just keeping to darker that we have no idea what's going on.

The presentation of this film is pretty good for the actions and the monsters, but most of monster fight takes a while that we like to see until the third act and the cinematography is just disappointed that they tone down the lighting we can barely see the action a bit.

The Characters
So what about the humans that the Kaiju fans didn't care? Well, its more like a double edge sword.

First up is our main hero Ford Brody (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, aka KickAss and Quicksilver from Avengers: Age of Ultron), he's rather the most forgettable hero. He's just typical hero of US Navy for the goal. He doesn't have any special personality that we can barely root for him. Don't give me wrong, Aaron had been some good films he's done that i mentioned before, but its just that his role is dull and boring.

As for Ford's father, Joe (played by Bryan Cranston, aka Walter White/Heisenberg from Breaking Bad), in my opinion, he's rather a likable father he would've been give more chance to shine in the movie, but sadly, like i mentioned before, he was short-lived. He's basically a typical father who died early with our main hero (who's a son) lost it, i mean have we heard it before?  But like stated of Aaron, i have nothing against Bryan Cranston, he's a great actor since he's been on Breaking Bad, but it could've been worse.

Then we have Ishiro Serizawa (played by Ken Watanabe), he's a scientist that i think he's also likable, but he's also more believable about the history of Godzilla since the bomb blast in WWII, despite kept in secret until in modern time. Even though he got some half appearances in the movie, but like i said, he's more believable about the Kaiju since decade ago before the birth of MUTO. Though i never heard of Ken, but he's rather a descent Japanese English spoken actor.

While  the rest aren't as anything special, like Elle Brody (played by Elizabeth Olsen) is a typical  wife who aren't give any special and Rear Admiral William Stenz (played by David Strathairn) is an admiral who didn't care about the truth but to destroy MUTO or something.

The characters in ths movie aren't as any special that we expected for, even though the casts is not bad that i might say.

Spoiler Alert if you haven't seen the movie or if you don't care.

The final act goes where the US NAVY go to the nest to destroying it before the nest will cause to spread more MUTOs, which they did. And we see a final battle between Godzilla and MUTOs which it was easily the best part in the movie, even though its hard to figure out, because it was too dark. As Ford was on last remain, despite the succeed, we see Ford looks at Godzilla that he loses it and probably get killed by the female MUTO after the male one got killed. But then Godzilla came back and finish her off with his Atomic breath shoving down her throat like Mortal Kombat Fatality, thats a one violent head torn off then where Godzilla beat the first MechaGodzilla. As for the ending, there's not much else to say, family reunion after the disaster, Godzilla wakes up that he's still alive, going back to the water then roll the credits It was kinda quick to finish the movie, eh?

And now for my final opinion of this film.
Overall, Godzilla 2014 is easily the better reboot than before, the story is pretty good, the presentation is nice, the casts are not bad. Although that some of the characters are pretty much forgettable due to their lack of development or even execution of personalities, with the exception of Ishiro Serizawa, cause i find him more interesting. The monsters themselves are pretty cool looking along with the fight scenes, but the cinematography is my main criticism that it was too dark that i can barely see anything with the soldiers scene or even the Kaiju fight scene.

If you're a fan of Kaiju films, i recommend this one for you, it may not be the best remake ever, but i considering watchable if you love Godzilla.

Il give this rating a 7/10. Its more considered to be above average, but still, its a good remake that i watched.

Movie review: The Happytime Murders

(Before review)

Anthony: *feels in pain of his life* I cannot believe myself...  I've been suffered two times to watching four of the worst movies of this year... Like Pacific Rim Uprising, Rampange, Teen Titans Go Th the Movies and then Slender Man...  Why?? Why did i waste my time and my IQ to watching these horrible movies...? I mean, 2018 is gonna kill me... Its gonna kill me so bad...!

Zelia: *approaching him* Whats wrong, Antho?

Anthony: I don't feel very good, i've suffered more than three strikes of bad movies, i just want to see some good movie at the end of summer...!

Zelia: How about "The Happytime Murders"? You've seen that trailer, right?

Anthony: Hmm... I saw it, i think il be interested to see, i watched the puppet shows since my childhood, but as i know, they took to a new level like "Sausage Party", i mean, it can't be that bad, right?

Zelia: So, what do you think of it?

Anthony: It was...     Ok, not the best, but it was rather alright. And im kinda refreshing.

You know, i had an old memory that remembered seeing a puppet show as, such as Sesame Street, it was fun, colorful and it has a lovable casts, though i don't remember which one is my favorite episodes, its most likely that i always a fan of animated films like Disney or Pixar.

As time goes, puppet shows are probably being picked up for movies, especially with famous franchise like "The Muppet show". I mean i know they had an up and down legacy. However, some people decided to asking "What if we make a puppet content, with action, black comedy and murder solving?".

"The Happytime Murders" is a 2018 is a black-comedy crime solving with puppets, directed by Brian Henson (the son of Jim Henson, but also as a producer), produced by Jeff Hayes, Jason Lust, Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone, then written by Todd Berger and Dee Austin Robertson (for story only).

This is the film that like Sausage Party, it came out of nowhere for a surprise that we have never seen. Like what if they're gonna make an R-Rated film with puppets? Well, thats exactly what we have by Brian Henson that we had a....  Lets just say, questionable immature imagination. However, before it came out, the film was suffered a lawsuit from Sesame Workshop due to the trademark infringement of quote "No Sesame, all Street" with a confusion individuals, while STX (the distribution company of this movie) wants to keep the tagline. But the case was dismissed because STX just got started for their production and the judge was favored STX's intention.

So, with all that said, will this movie make a big deal of a new level of Puppet genre, or is it realy not worth it for family?

Well, lets find out.

The Story
Now, we expected to be something interesting for the story, well... Not really.

It takes place in the world where the puppets coexists with humans, but ended up being bullied and considered to be "inferior". However, we introduce our main hero Phil Philips, a private investigator in Los Angeles who got fired from LAPD. However, he was approached by a sexy client named Sandra, where she gave his objective to find someone who's blackmailing her, while he's going to the sex-shop for investigation from the records. However, a mysterious murderer who killed the shop owner and some customers in the shop, which Phil didn't notice that there's a lot of puppet's body counts. But Phil meets detective and former partner named Connie Edwards, which they're unlikely reuniting and working together But it turns out the murderer was targeting the cast of the 90's fictional show "The Happytime Gang", its up to them to find the mysterious killer once and for all.

Though i find the setting is rather nice to have a world with humans and puppets, but its just the story feels like we have heard or seen before, its rather too simple for the story. There's a subplot where Garry reunites with Phil since the 90's, but it was only used in the first act that Garry didn't last very long. Not to mention, the movie was trying for a focus between Phil and Edwards, but the development seems to be a lacking, since it was focus with humors. Speaking of it, i find the gags are rather double edge swords, some parts that it did made me chuckle from silly lines of the gags, but others that i was questioning for the meaning or even rather uncomfortable to see.

Story might have potential for the setting and the half of humors, but it just felt flat for cliche murderer case story and some subplot aren't helping.

The Production
Well, i can easily say that the presentation itself is rather... normal.

For starter, the filming locations are rather not bad, from typical street in LA, a semi abandoned house and some colorful dirty houses with puppets, i kinda like it, but maybe would've been better.

Then there's the puppet works, which i find them are rather nice, some have cool and some colorful designs that i find them original, but some others are like a rejected designs of either Muppet showor Sesame Street, like some of two females on the alleyway that they're like rejected gender bender version of Kermit the frog. Speaking of puppet designs, they're total of 125 puppets they they're made, and 40 are specifically made for the movie. And when the puppets are shown in hole body, they're doing in green screen for their movements some they're kinda move nice, but other times questionable. Some of the puppet's gags are rather bellow, like the scene where one room with octopus puppet playing with Cow puppet's teat, which i find it be uncomfortable to seeing it. or even the scene where Phil and Sandra have a...    Lets just say they're hanging out way too much in Phil's room and i swear, i hope its a silly string when he...  Um... spraying...

And finally, there's the action scene, i find the action scenes are rather entertaining and sometimes a bit suspenseful. And of course, they even doing a body count of puppets, but its rather disappointed that there's no blood out of puppet's organs, come on people, if this is an R-Rated movie, give us more blood. But or course, maybe its because of budget limit, since it estimated costs 40 or 47 million dollars. But hey, at least its four times expensive than "Slender Man".

The production itself are rather nice, but they could've make something better than that like more violent than more sex.

The Characters
Its not easy to tell for which characters are likable that we can root for.

First is our main hero Phil Philips (played by Bill Barretta), he's like an anti-hero as a private investigator when he lost his job from LAPD. Plus, he always mutter what went wrong, perhaps self-aware and spray smokes out of his mouth while smoking. Though Bill did a nice job of voice acting, but i guess he's kinda likable in the film, even though he's more of a generic broken down investigator.

Then there's Connie Edwards (played by Melissa McCarthy), she's kinda another broken character from the past, though she sometimes she could be serious, but other times she could be idiot, where one moment she was trippin on drugs, which is probably a filler scene that has nothing to do in the plot. Though i find her rather nice for her acting, but sometimes, her role could be a B****. So, i guess i could say that she deserves better than a godawful reboot of Ghostbusters, right?

And there's Sandra White (played by Dorien Davies), who's a typical sexy girl that we never know who she is. But to be fair, she's rather hot.

While the rest aren't much else to say that most of them didn't have any special developments, like Bubbles (played by Maya Rudolph) who's a hot secretary with Phil, Lieutenant Banning (played by Leslie David Baker) who's a superior lieutenant which i kinda like him, Agent Campbell (played by Joel McHale) who's a serious agent from FBI and Jenny (played by Elizabeth Banks, aka Wyldstyle from The Lego Movie) who's a sexy former host of "The Happytime Gang".

Speaking of "The Happytime Gang", as for the puppets? Well, don't expect about them, they're just appeared for the gimmick of drugs, mobsters and prostitutes.

I also like to point out that the acting are rather bellow average that they're trying to be serious or funny, but other times, they're flat out cartoonish that it makes Hulk Hogan blushes.

The characters are rather average that some characters that i kinda like, but some of them are forgettable and the acting is questionable to watch.

And now for my final opinion of this film.
Overall, after seeing two previous bad films that i was suffered, this one is alright. The setting is interesting, the actions are entertainment, some of puppets are nice looking and some characters like Phil and Banning are rather likable. But when you have a boring story, average looking film, bellow acting, lack of violent and a mixed bag jokes, you get a film that doesn't have any specials or meaning. I guess they're trying to make a new level like "Sausage Party", but the different is that Sausage Party had a dark sense of humor, nice looking animation and an interesting story. But this one feels like it was done on Web movie due to the limit of budget.

So, im not entirely sure if i can recommend this movie, because you'l probably find it to be a desperate cashing in for adult audiences. But, at least it didn't made me traumatized than two previous films that i was despised.

For me rating, i think il go with 5/10. It may have potential, but probably tripped with several problems.

Movie Review: Slender Man

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review.

You know, back in the old days of early 2010's, we've been fascinated about an urban legend in the internet known as "Creepypastas". There a lot to chose that we like, Jeff the killer, SCP Foundation, Eyeless Jack, 1999, The Rake and many more.

But one that it was considered the most talked about in internet urban legend is gotta be "Slender Man". Its about an unknown entity with large limbs, wearing a black suit, has tentacles and he has no face. It is said that when he's approaching or when you see his face, it'll coming to capture you in the most disturbing way. And ever since we like to talking about Slender Man, he has been adapted in video games. With the most popular game called "Slender: the eight pages". Not only the games, but also in the movies, including the recent one.

"Slender Man" is a 2018 horror film that was directed by Sylvain White, produced by Bradley J. Fischer, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Robyn Meisinger and Sarah Snow, and written by David Birke.

Let me start off by saying that im not a horror movie guy, i always like to focus with some actions, animated, biography and few other films that i like to talking about whether they're good or bad. But when you like to talking about the modern day horror films, they're just bellow average, due to the obvious violent and even cliche that most of them are unoriginal. But unless you're talking about 2017 horror films, they had some good ones like "Get Out" or even "Stephen King's It". Though i bought some horror films that i like to see these in the future like Halloween (1978), The Nightmare on Elm Street or even my favorite franchise "Friday the 13th".

But when they announced to having slender Man in the big screen, i was surprised and kinda skeptical that we all know Slender Man has a lot of appearances on the internet like Youtube, but in the big screen, thats an unexpected moment, bot oh boy... I definitely shown that i cannot believe that i wasted my time with 1 in a half hours.

So, how the hell did this film came out of nowhere?

Lets find out...!

The Story

I expected to be something creative like maybe a ritual story to collecting eight pages like in the game, right? Well, they wanted to be different.

The story tells where four girls, Wren, Hallie, Chloe and Katie hang out together like any teenagers do, not before they found a video that they accidentally summon an unknown entity named Slender Man. But after one week, Katie was disappeared for some reason, not before our three girls believe they were involved of the incident, its up to them to recall Slender Man to bring back Katie.

The best way to say, this story is absolutely boring, it has no originality that they clearly don't know how to make something new, instead its all about a victim who got disappeared from supernatural and a some sorta ritual. We had seen better horror story that we've seen before that are either alright or maybe good. Not to mention, they even include a subplot of relationship between Hallie and one random man name Tom and does this have to do with the main story like working together for a help? None, they have no connection to a main plot, which their relationship only happen for a small amount of minutes.

I can barely called "story", considering how unoriginal it was ever done.

The Production

Despite the writing is super lame, but the production looks rather average.

The filming location is not bad, they're obviously filmed in Boston, but it was written that it takes place in Massachusetts (Boy, am i heard of it before?). The location is pretty cliche, forest, in the old house and cemetery, though the cinematography looks not bad, but again, its a pretty cliche location, but sometimes it got too dark that i can barely see what's happening.

As for the effects, they're rather looks not bad, with shocking images, a cracking tree noises from Slender Man's approaching and some disturbing imagery. Its nice, but sometimes it'll probably may not be watchable if one of you are sensitive from Epilepsy. But other times, it could be very cheap that they use CGI, it looks soo video game-ish. Though its obvious that its a low budget film of 10 million bucks.

The presentation looks pretty bellow average at best to describe, and the quality may or may not the best looking.

The Characters

We expected to be something special and maybe meaningful of our heroes, but in reality, we have a lot of characters that they have no likability for their lack of personalities.

These characters doesn't have any explanations who they are that i have a hard time, all we have is eight characters in one movie, Wren (played by Joey King, its a girl, btw) is just a main hero, Hallie played by Julia Goldani Telles) is a average girl with Tom, Chloe (Jaz Sinclair) who's just a girl with no specialties and Katie (played by Annalise Basso) whos an obvious victim.

And the rest doesn't have any consistencies like Tom and various parents. But one of them is worth of damn is our titular villain Slender Man (portrayed by Javier Botet), which they fits nicely due to his appearance to playing as Slender Man. Despite for the fact he doesn't do anything, but only hunting whoever watching video about Slender himself, which it maybe make sense that he's sorta like a stalker when they watched about him.

The characters in this movie is a complete waste of opportunities and waste of money to hiring some actors that we may or may not familiar with.

And now for my final opinion of this film.

Overall, Slender Man the movie is the most boring modern horror film i have ever seen, with unoriginal story, poorly written, a pretty average presentation and the characters are not likable thatr we can rooting for. But Slender Man himself is more interesting to see, since he's the most iconic urban legend figure in the internet, but here we are, seeing him only capturing someone who watching the video about him. No eight pages, not explanation, nothing. I mean geez, this the forth time that i watched a movie, but now im getting tortured for the second time after seeing an abomination animated movie based on the reboot by Carton Network and now this?! 

I am clearly starting to getting pissed off like i did few weeks ago, otherwise il easily believing that movies of 2018 is an absolute divided! I mean for the love of god, just don't waste your time to watch this movie that it has nothing! Absolutely nothing in this 10 million dollars film! I mean, i'd rather watching some film that they're recently good like "Christopher Robin" or even "BlacKkKlansman".

And for that, im gonna rate this movie at 1/10 with also a "WTF level".

I mean good lord, im start to having a mixed feeling for 2018 movies, i had watched some good films in early to mid 2018, but then for no reason that im started to getting hurt to watching two of worst movies of this year, otherwise...   2018 is gonna kill me... Its gonna kill me, isn't it??

Ok, im gonna stop right now, or il going batS*** insane of bad movies, maybe i wanna take another rest and looking for some films that i want something good.

Movie Review: Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review.

You know, its always hard to talking about some of animation studio aren't as good that we wanted to see for potential, like "ImageMovers Digital" that they only made two animated motion capture movies for Disney, one of them is the most the absolute worst one that it killed off the business is "Mars Needs Moms" and lets just acting like it'll never happen anymore.

But one company that some people didn't like, it will be Sony Pictures Animation. I know Sony has a flaws with some of bad movies, but for their animation work, its a very different story that they wanted to appeal for kids for their family friendly films. But there's one film that it had a tiny reputation before the company became a punching bag of bad movies, case in point, "Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs".

Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs is a 2009 animated comedy film that was written/directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (the famous director duos for their debut) and produced by Pam Marsden.

This is the film that i was very curious as a teenager but didn't bought the DVD, but seen it from activity club and even on TV that i programmed and i though it was awesome and funny.

Not to mention, when i was doing a research, it turns out it was different that it was loosely based on the book with a same name, thats its about a fantasy weather phenomena of a food falling from the sky for unknown reason. Which i was even more curious that i wanna buy a book that it was released in 1978.

So, as i grew to an adult, will this movie hold up that i love, or it could change my opinion that i'd rather get a pie in the face from the sky?

The Story
This obvious to tell that it was very cliche story that we've heard before.

It tells about Flint Lockwood, a genius dreamer that he wants to inventing to change the world, but failed multiple times (except for his "spray-on-shoe"). Later on, he and his father Tim packed up to "Swallow Fall" to working on sardine shop, where everyone only eats sardines (it could've been worse, there might another village where everyone are forced to eating congealed pork blood), so Flint decides to creating his own food machine to adding water to creating food. But he tested outside, it failed that the machine flies to the sky, but not before it created the weather of food raining, which it made him succeed, but little he didn't know, its because the mayor of "Swallow Fall" got so much intention to Flint's invention that he wants more, which it causing a natural disaster in the town, its up to Flint and his friends to stop the machine before it'll cause all over the world.

Like i said, its the same story that we've heard before, a scientist wants to invent to change the world, but causing danger, you know the drill. But the idea of creating of a machine make food raining is an interesting concept, but not for the execution from again, the obvious cliche. Aside that, there are two subplots in the film, one is the not-so-romantic relationship between Flint and Sam Spark, which although developed that she likes his invention or even hanging out together in the Jell-O house, but it might be a filler. and the other one is having a father and son relationship, most notably Earl Devereaux and his son Cal, where Earl warns at Flint that despite he believe he'll causing trouble, but also need to be connective with Flint's father like he does. Speaking of Flint's father, he also wants to be connective with Flint for working together and also for safety before again, causing trouble. It could work, but like before, its another filler. As for the jokes, they're rather low brow that i did chuckle of some of them, but other times, some jokes gets carrying on for dumb reaction, which il talk about the animation.

Though the story has an interesting concept, but in reality, it feels rather unoriginal for similar plot and two fillers.

The Animation
Well, since im talking about Sony's animation work, its surprise to tell that it looks...  Questionably, weirdly, cartoony bad?

For starter, the background looks rather nice, from depressing town of "Swallow Fall", to a fun and colorful place to changing to "Chewandswallow". And having full of random food in the town is actually looks again, fun, colorful and probably makes me feel hungry while watching it. Plus, the food animation is also well done for the detail, even we've seen previous animated film with better food detail like Pixar's Ratatouille.

Then there's the character designs and how it goes the animation is just rather quick pace and waaaay too cartoony looking, it would've been ok for an hand-drawn animation, but because of "3D animation equals money", they decide to made it in the most sloppiest way ever made with mentioned low brow jokes and obnoxious facial reaction that it almost makes me wanna looking away from the screen. I know they wanted to appeal for the kids to enjoy the old fashion fast pace comedy, but it felt like either expired or even embarrassing to look at. Or otherwise, it could be worse for Sony's later animated films...

The animation is color and nice detail with foods, though the character designs and animation aren't helping to be silly looking design.

The Characters
Though i expected for some characters have likability, but they aren't as interest that we expected.

Starting off is Flint Lockwood (voiced by Bill Hader, aka Fear from Inside Out), he's a typical genius scientist that he wants to invent something to change the world, but he's kinda being a selfish that he wants to be successful, but again, failed in disaster. Though i have nothing against Bill Hader, but i don't he deserves better for being in this film which he's not only generic, but kinda annoying.

While the rest are all one dimensional that i don't have any way to explain, Sam Spark (voiced by Anna Faris) is not just a typical love interest, but also a boring character, Brent (voiced by Andy Samberg) is not only an infamous mascot of sardine, but also a annoying comic relief along with monkey talk Steven (voiced by Neil Patrick Harris), The Mayor (voiced by Bruce Campbell, aka Ash Williams from Evil Dead) is not only a typical villain for manipulation, but also an absolute selfish for the power, and Manny (voiced by Benjamin Bratt) is not only a stereotypical of Guatemalan, but he's also a forgettable character without any purposes.

Though sometimes it had some above average characters, with a plot element of father and son relationship. Like Earl Devereaux (voiced by the famous Mr. T, Fool!), despite im kinda surprised that Mr. T does a voice acting of this character, he maybe a likable character, even though he's like a Mexican jumping-bean, but he has a connective relation to his son for how he cared him than Flint's parent. Especially the scene where Earl's son has a gift from Flint in the village of ice cream, which its actually a very sweet moment (no pun attended).

And lastly is Flint's father, Tim (voiced by James Caan), despite being a technophobic father, but like Earl, he cared his son for safety reason, which it makes sense that he's trying to grab attention to Flint for not only be safe, but connecting together for their business and caring.

The characters are soo bellow average for one dimensional personalities and even forgettable main hero. Even though the fathers like Earl and Tim are more respectful how we like, despite the father and son relationship are nothing but filler.

Spoiler Alert if you haven't seen the movie or if you don't care.

The final act aren't as any special to say, Flint and his friends working together going in the giant meatball to stop the machine be the natural disaster all over the world, which Flint obviously did. As for "Chewandswallow", its all about trying to get out the town after the dam was destroyed from over the limit of foods. As for the Mayor, he's just disappeared at the end of the movie, never to be heard nor mention again. Flint stop the machine, reunites his father, first kiss to Sam, then they live happily ever after, roll the credits.

Again, the ending aren't any special to say about this movie.

And now for my final opinion of this film.
Overall, "Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs" is rather an average film, i like the concept of foods falling from the sky and a nice animation of the foods and backgrounds. but when you bring an unoriginal story, choppy character's animation, generic characters and low-level ending, you just get a very boring film. Of course, this movie has a divided opinion, like where Hewy Toonmore liked this movie for his positive opinion, while others like AniMat hated this movie so much. But for me, it was rather average opinion.

And is it really a worst movie? Not really, its not as bad than some of later films that they're either no specialty or an absolute disgraceful since "Teen Titans Go! To the Movies". Again, it has a divided reaction whether Sony did alright or even unwatchable. But, we have an upcoming film in this year such as "Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse", which i hope they don't F***ed it up. As for "Hotel Transylvania 3"? I won't even bother to look at for unnecessary reason.

Oh, and you're probably wondering about "Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2"? Well, its not the best sequel ever made, its a bad animated sequel version of "Pacific Rim Uprising", but five years before i watched.

For my rating of this movie, il give it a 5/10. Im not sure if il recommend to see it if you like or hate this movie or Sony's animated studio.

Movie Review: Teen Titans Go! To the Movies

Anthony: *looks at the rating from the critics like "RottenTomatoes.com"* Hm...  seems that they have an average or acclaimed review... That made me questioned so much, is it real or a fake review? Well, im only way to find out to watch this movie, because i know lot of  people hated the reboot show so much, but maybe the movie may not be that bad, right??

*one in a half hours later*

Oh my god...!

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review...

You know... We have seen plenty of cartoon reboots that ended up with multiple of backlashes that i won't work to making them as either a comedy or even poor redesign with our new age of animation...

In Cartoon Network, it has no exception. But don't give me wrong, i like this channel that they're some shows that we all know and love like Steven Universe, Ok K.O. Lets Be Heroes, We Bare Bear and some others. But one that it had a highest rating of the show is "Teen Titans Go", the infamous reboot that it got a huge amount of hates, but as i know, they don't care about the fans, all they care is to make money in order to make a better rating. Though its nice to brought the original casts back and some animation are colorful and kinda cute, but its just doesn't work for a very low brow comedy. But except with "Legs", its easily a better episode, either that or maybe its because it was spawned on DeviantArt, but i digress.

But then, CN think the show wasn't good enough that after the release of My Little Pony The Movie, they decided to making their own movie with TTG on the big screen, but oh boy, it showed...

"Teen Titans Go! To the Movie" is a 2018 animated superhero CN movie directed by Peter Rida Michail (also as a producer) and Aaron Horvath (also a producer and a writer) and produced by Michael Jelenic (also as a writer), Peggy Regan and Will Arnett.

This is the film that it came out of nowhere and it got a huge dislike in the rating on youtube and negative comment that it didn't deserved to be potential since "The Emoji Movie". But this time, its an obvious adaptation of the show that we don't like. For me, i didn't care so much that mainly focus with Steven Universe and maybe OK K.O., but this reboot is understandably bad, though i like it in a bellow average opinion.

However, when this film came out on festival, RottenTomatoes.com blew up to giving the movie a higher rating like 100%, but it drop 10 to 90% or 89%. When i heard that, i was very skeptical that they either love this movie, or probably a fake review. But then some others like IMDb gave an average rating of 6.9/10. The more positive rating they give, the more skeptical i got.

And before you ask, no, im not a hardcore fanboy of the original Teen Titans, im not just an average fan of Teen Titans, but im more of inspirational fan of plenty of superhero films, like my new favorite film Incredibles 2 (Oh! Recently, it reached to a billion dollars, congrats, Pixar.).

But in the end...  This is the film that after watching, you can easily tell that i am very very pissed off. Because of that, i have no choice but to review about this Fucking movie!

So lets find out...!

The Story
Well... If it can trying to be a story, but i felt that the writing is just too difficult to describing it.

The plot started that our fellow heroes Teen Titans coming into to facing against "Balloon Man", despite humiliating him for a very cheap gas humor, but our good heroes Justice League manage to popping off this big guy in Balloon, but the Titans are too busy to making their entrance songs, because they were stupidly idiots. Then they went into a movie theater for the upcoming "summer movie" which is all about Batman's equipment and Alfred, causing Robin get humiliated, since he used to be a sidekick from few years ago (as we all know), which he wanted to making his own movie with his Titan friends. But their issue is that they're also have to deal with Slade (please don't make a Fucking joke about him with his name prenoucing or comparing as Deadpool, because come on, Deadpool is a parody of Deathstroke by Marvel Comics!!) in order to save a crystal (which they mentioned as Dilithium crystal, which is a WRONG MOVIE THAT THEY'RE IN, DAMMIT!!!). Its up to Titans for either save the crystal or even be serious as a superhero instead of being a Fucking idiots.

I can honestly believe that this a stupidest story i've ever heard, which they're trying to making their own movie with a director Jade Wilson and then for whatever reason, the writing just do whatever it wants that it always changing the subject that i have a hard time to follow the story, its as if the writings is like it was done by a 7 year old boy for changing the subject randomly for no reason what so Goddamn ever! But the biggest problem is the movie doesn't even focus about quote-on-quote "Be yourselves", "be a true superhero" or being a Fucking idiot, they wanted to focus with all the jokes. I mean every jokes that they put in is way too stupid, way to ridiculous and way to frustrating that it barely tries to make a laugh! Although i did chuckle some that works, but nearly everything is just low brow with toilet humor, culture references, dumb raps and more idiocracy.

I though the joke of "Pacific Rim: Uprising"'s joke was cringe inducing, but this one crossed the Shitty line with broken down writing, nearly unfocused story and even a god awful jokes!!

The Animation
Now, if you expected that this animation is the worst looking since "FoodFight", some of Sony animation films, "Norm of the North" or even some of cheap low budget/quality films? Well, its more like 50/50.

The animation itself looks kinda nice, which obviously is a big budget film to adapting from the reboot show (since it has a TV budget). It has a same character design and kind of same background from the show, but more updated in the big screen. I like of flat colors with extra shading and some of new designs in the movie. not to mention, it has a but load of superheroes in the background (aside of Justice League) that you can play "Where's Waldo" style.

But it was just the end of positive quickly, because the rest is just horrendous with quick pace, embarrassing image humor, over the limit of joke with Arses, over exaggerating facial reactions even worse, it has a very bad musical numbers that it makes "Strange Magic" the movie sounds good out of nowhere!! I know that they're trying like in the show for a quick paste and dumb jokes, but i can say its two times worse with one in a half hours movie length! Although that some character designs could be good, but sometimes the other character designs just ended up looks awful that i was questioning for what we call a "professional artist" that they though its ok to put it either a show or even a movie! I mean come on, the people in DeviantArt have more professional than this!! I mean it would've been ok to put it as a "TV movie", but noo! They decided that again, they though the show wasn't good enough to putting it in the big Fucking screen as if they're demanding us for money!!

I mean, even the production done bellow average, but its just flat disgraceful since "The Emoji Movie" or "Foodfight" that i'd rather looking away from the screen for how sad, desperate and obnoxious it was done!!

The Characters
I have three words to describe the characters in this movie: Stupidly Mean Spirited!!

First up we have our titular heroes, which im sure if you're familiar from the original show. When we have the reboot, they're obviously have a typical personalities that they're trying to be either cute or funny.
Robin (voiced by Scott Menville) is not only the leader of the group, but he's also a douchebag on his own attention.
Beast Boy (voiced by Greg Cipes) is not only the member with the ability to transform into wild animals, but he's also a typical cool kid.
Cyborg (voiced by Khary Payton) is not only half human/half/robot, but he's also annoyingly dumb.
Starfire (voiced by Hynden Walch) who's not only a humanoid alien princess of Tamaran, but she's also pointless cute girl/love interest of Robin.
And Raven (voiced by my favorite voice actress Tara Strong) is not only a half human/half demon from her home world nor a goth girl, but also questionably emo. But to be fair, she's my favorite character, which it kinda like she deserves better to be on her own. (Well, without living with her father Trigon...)

As for the villain Slade (voiced by Will Arnett), although he's rather look pretty cool, but its too bad he's like a desperate version of the original version that like in the original, he's targeting Robin to be on his side, but very poorly executed for the fast pace or even hair pulling jokes. But you know the worst part about him? He's not just a typical villain for his simple goal, but he's also a rip off of ScreenSlaver from Incredibles 2!! Like why the hell you wanna bringing one of the most badass mercenary anti-hero turning into a ripoff villain that i kinda liked?! I mean for Fuck Sake, they're literately ripping off of recent film of this year!! Wait, did i actually spoiled the movie? Pst! I don't give a shit, considering how bad the film really that im easily exposing it when after i saw the trailer from few months ago!!

As for the rest of the characters? Well, some characters like Justice League shown from the first act and then they kinda disappeared as a background characters, its as if they knew they don't wanna get annoyed by the so-called Titans. There's Jade Wilson (voiced by Kristen Bell) is although she's a cute director, but she's just a forgettable one for no personalities. Like i said before, although you can see some other DC heroes in the background, some of them are just for show, or even some of embarrassing gimmick (including HawkMan).

This movie actually succeeded that they brought the characters the from show to the Fucking that i don't wanna hear what they're trying to make a joke or even likability! Well except for Raven, i still like her, but sadly insufferable...

And now, lets get to the big final opinion of this... Thing...!!
I can't believe what to say or see about this "movie". I mean i've been suffered to watching some recent bad movies like "Pacific Rim Uprising" that its just nothing but a desperate sequel attempt of actions of monsters and mechas and even horrible jokes, Rampage is just nothing but a poor cash-grab based on video game that we all know and love from decade ago. But then, everything changed in my mind of this year to say that "Teen Titans Go! To the Movies" is easily the worst movie i have ever seen in my entire Fucking life!!! The writing is horrible, the story barely follow not even meaning, the animation is extremely bellow average, the songs wasn't as fun as Jake Paul songs and the characters wasn't like the characters that we all know and love!!! But don't even give me started with defenders out there to calling it "good", "funny" or "Its just for kids". Like what are you crazy?! You can't defend this movie to calling it "Good", i mean you'll be lied that this movie is Fucked up for how Shitty it was made, this movie feels like it was for brain dead sheeps!If i though "The Emoji Movie" was the worst, but this one reach to a boiling point that I HATE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH THAT THIS IS THIRD STRIKE IN 2018 THAT IM ALREADY EXPLODED IN ANGER AND PAIN!!!!

Good lord... I have never been exploded with painful experience while doing a review from many times ago when i talked to either good or average film. But this film is easily my biggest nemesis and the worst, if not "The worst movie of all time". But again, i considering it as the worst film i have ever seen in my entire life that it hurts my cells and even waste my time with one in a half hours... By god, talking about this movie with honesty, joke or maybe debating opinions is a terrible decision of mine... And i don't know for which one that il losing faith, is it DC that they became a punching bag from adaptation or even Cartoon Network for their sorry excuses of bad reboots like "PowerPuff Girls 2016" or even recently "ThunderCats Roar"...

Speaking of reboot. you're probably wondering my though of a DC short remake of "Late Batsy", which is for the upcoming "DC Super Hero Girls"? Well, i found it looks pretty good, but i can easily exposed that its the same element from the previous short from DC Nation shorts called "Super Best Friend Forever". But it can be coincidence, both of them are made by Lauren Faust (the same creator of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic). And i believe that it deserves better than the movie itself, which easily giving a 4/5.

So in the end of my review of this cancerous movie, i can definitely give this movie a 1/10 in the WTF level!!

This is not only i give a lowest rating film ever in my review, but this is also a warning for all of you guys, do not watch this movie, like i dare you guys to never ever, ever, EVER watch this movie that it was spawned either from corporation or even from hell!! This is exactly a good reason that Cartoon Network should've put this as a TV Movie! So Fuck this reboot, Fuck the people behind the show/movie and FUCK THIS MOVIE IN THE ETERNAL EVIL!!!!!

Its over...  Its already over... Thank goodness, im finally done talking about this thing...! Because after talking about it, i will never rewatch this movie, otherwise il be even more suffering. Like i just want to moving on to see the other movie that it has more potential or maybe my first attempt to review a horror movie? Well, il have to wait for a while, because i need to relax in my room or walking outside, i think my brain is already got boiled from my rage...

Movie review: Ant-Man and The Wasp

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review.

From three years ago, i talked about the first movie Ant-Man, which although its a nice start, but the execution wasn't that great, which is basically a copy-paste of "Iron Man".

And of course, at the end, we saw a cliffhanging ending where Hope van Dyne is prepare as the new Wasp. Which is no wonder why its gotta be a sequel what we want to see after an average start.

"Ant-Man and The Wasp" is 2018 MCU film and a sequel from before that was directed by Peyton Reed (And yes, he's back), Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, and written by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Paul Rudd (Yup, not he acted, but also working as the writer), Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari (Um...  Is he like a son of Enzo or something??).

This is the film that it was unexpectedly announced or maybe predicted for the fans after three years. But the major downside is that this movie came out the same year with "Avengers: Infinity War", due that mean it has a connection from previous film from last month?

Enough of question, with all that said, will this movie holds up to be be better than the first film, or is this film deserves to be crushed like a bug by The Green Goblin?

Well, lets find out.

The Story

It started on the backstory that we've seen before, where Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne working together as a titular hero, but one time in 1987, Hank tries to disable the nuke bomb, but didn't work on his own, causing his lost wife using her shrinking power further to sacrifice herself. However, it wasn't true, due to the fact that she maybe alive and lost in quantum realm. Fast forward to present time, Scott Lang was expected to going back in normal after being nearly free from prison, but he was being picking up by Hank and Janet's daughter Hope that they decided to making their new project to find Janet if she's still alive after more than 30 years. However, the main villain "Ghost" wants to capturing Hank's lab, due to her ability that it risks her own life because of quantum. Its up to our heroes to keeping their lab from Ghost and probably a betrayed employee named Bill Foster.

I can say that the story itself is not only average, but probably a lot better than tracing the very first story of Iron Man. But its most likely that Hank's lab is more like a holy grail for whoever wants to take it for reasons. But the problem of the story is that it got too much with subplots, like the mentioned healing for Ghost, Scott Lang dealing with security, having issue of his suit and even hanging out with his family like his daughter which is an obvious filler. Like come on, stop going randomly otherwise the story is getting confused for whats the focus. But again, the main focus is who's gonna get Hank's lab. But another problem is that it was rushed for the story, since this movie's time is nearly 2 hours.

The story is quiet good than before, but you think if you could just tone down for the subplots?

The Production.

What else can i say for this movie, its a pretty cool production movie with actions, suits and effects.

But first, the presentation remains the same, but with creative way, most notable with expanding shrinking gadgets for not just the suits or various objects, but also with cars (aka turning into a toy car, due to "Hot wheels luggage collection) or even Hank's lab, which im quiet impressed for their invention.

The action scenes are pretty cool and entertainment, especially with some tricky ways like shrinkage or even ghostly ways. But my personal favorite is the car chase scene in the most insane and creative ways that it was a fun rollercoaster.

As for the costumes, they're pretty cool that we've seen. Though Ant-Man's suit was used from previous film that i have to admit, its a lot more fascinating than the comic version. As for the new ones like The Wasp, although it looks like a sister version of Ant-Man due to a similar design, but to be fair, it looks pretty cool with the colors, kinda like in the comic, speaking of comic, she has wings and shooting some kinda sting energy ball, nice. As for Ghost, although its a nice design, which im very impressed, but the color is the most typical pick ever, i know it fits for her color choice, but why can't they pick something easier for stealth like black or something.

But the downside, is that not only a rushed story or development, but its just that when i watched, i noticed that some scenes from the trailer were almost all removed, which i didn't know why they cut some scenes out. Maybe its the limited budget, despite it was developed over 162 million dollars.

Its a pretty good production of this movie, but i had a disappointed presentation that some scens from the trailer was suffered a cut.

The Characters

Im sure you're heard these guys from the first movie, otherwise if you've haven't seen it, il give a bit summarize from my previous review of "Ant-Man".

First is our titular hero "Ant-Man", aka Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd), a former criminal turned into a hero thanks for discovering Ant-Man's outfit, with the ability of shrinking ant size and even assembling army of ants. He's known to be fun, a bit smart and sometimes kinda magician. But of course, its nice to see Paul Rudd returned as our hero. either that or i'd rather looking back where he played SNES on billboard.

Next is our mentor Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas), a former member of SHIELD, an early example of Ant-Man since Janet's so-called "sacrifice" and inventor for shrinking abilities. Although he's like a leader to former prisoner and his daughter Hope, but he maybe also considered as a joy fatherhood, due to his concerned to his wife and relation of his daughter. Though sometimes he's rather serious due to his demise of his own company and probably a dysfunctional relation to his former employee Bill Foster. Despite some flaws, Michael is always did a nice work of his role, even though he was reached over 70.

Then is our second titular hero, Hope van Dyne, aka The Wasp (played by Evangeline Lilly), at first, i though she's just a tool from the first movie, but of course at the end, she proceeds to working as a recent Wasp. Although she's pretty cool for her action, but sometimes the relation with Scott Lang is gonna be a difficult story, due to his action on "Civil War". Though i never heard of Lilly, but she did an interesting work.

And you're probably wondering about The Original Wasp, aka Janet van Dyne (played by Michelle Pfeiffer)? Well, she's out there in quantum realm, but we have to wait for confirmation. Oh, and this is not the only time she played in the comic movie, which she's famously known as Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman in Batman Returns. Man, this is the second time i watched a movie veteran actor who used playing in Tim Burton's Batman movies since "Spider-man Homecoming".

As for the new villains? They're rather pretty cool, despite one of them has a small appearance.

First is Ghost, aka Ava Starr (played by Hannah John-Kamen). Like i said before, she has a cool outfit, but not as good for execution for simple white in my opinion. Despite the flaws, she has the ability of phasing through walls and objects. I though she could be a cool maybe a deadly villain, but she's more like a neutral, due to her affection molecular instability (aka phasing) which it'll cause to kill her. So, she's sorta like a sympathetic villain for her risking her own life from her own power. Hannah is rather an interesting to playing as a neutral(?) antagonist, but i just wish she could be evil rather than need a help before dying.

And finally there's Bill Foster (played by Laurence Fishburne, aka Morpheus from The Matrix), a former employee of Hank's employee that he invented "Project Goliath" for gigantic size for Ant-Man. Like before he started nice, but turns out to be a villain (kinda) that he wants revenge for being demised by Hank Pym that he works with Ghost by stealing his so-called "friend"'s lab to healing Ava. I have nothing against Laurence Fishburne, he's most famous actor for years since The Matrix. But of course, this isn't the only time he acted in comic movie, such as DC Extended Universe where he played Perry White.

While the rest aren't much else to say, Some of them came back for their role like X-Com members Luis, Dave and Kurt (played by Michael Pena (Again with him in my review?!), Tip "T.I." Harris and David Dastmalchian), the low IQ crime Sonny Burch (played by Walton Goggins), and a parole officer Jimmy Woo (played by Randall Park).

The characters are fun and nice for return, while some other characters (as well the new villains) would've been great what i expected.

And now for my final opinion of this film.
Overall, i think its probably better than the first one, with good story, great productions and the characters are nice. Though sometimes it got a lot of problems with so many subplots about keeping/stealing lab, some scenes from the trailer were cut and some characters along the villains aren't as great what i was wishing for.

Was it a better movie in this year's MCU? Well, probably not, it didn't get much attention than Black Panther or even Infinity War. It kinda disappointed me, but again, at least its much better story than first one. If you like Ant-Man, this one is for you, or perhaps you should stick to two previous mentioned films.

For my rating,il give it a 7/10. Its above average at its best to describe this movie.
