Movie review: Spider-man Homecoming

Bryan Emmerich: *opens a box in surprise* Oh my goodness...

Mystica: What is it?

Bryan Emmerich: Its a...  a costume of Spider-man and a comic based on the movie that it already came out called "Spider-man Homecoming"?

Mystica: Wow, didn't expect that.

Bryan Emmerich: Me too. I guess we'll find out, since we had five previous films. *opens a book to find out*

*several hours later*

Bryan Emmerich: wow... That...   Was Amazing!!

*review starts*

Greeting everyone, my name is Bryan Emmerich and welcome back to the movie review.

What can we say about Spider-man?  He's one of the most famous hero in Marvel comics history since he was first started in 1962,  its about a teenager who got bitten by a radioactive spider that he secretly have powers with strength, climbing, super jumps, webs and even Spider-sense. Ever since he's so popular, he appeared every media from cartoons to the movies. The most famous is the Sam Raimi's Spider-man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. The first was pretty descent, the second one is great and the third one is pretty disappointed, which is no wonder why their forth plan was canceled. And then we have two of "The amazing spider-man" movies, the first one was rather good and the second one is just a big joke, its also no wonder why their third plan got canceled.  I mean geez, Sony and few members could've make a good spider-man movies for how to make something right.

That is until MCU finally brought our friendly neighborhood back in the big screen in "Captain America Civil War", which it sounds too soon, but they have to follow the book for big brawl of heroes. And finally, they made their standalone film that we're highly anticipated.

"Spider-man Homecoming" is a 2017 Superhero film was written/directed by Jon Watts, produced by Kevin Fiege and Amy Pascal and written by Jonathan Goldstein, John Francis Daley for screenplay and story.

As i mentioned before, Spider-man was first appeared in Civil War that he's working with Iron Man for the protection facility like in the comic. And when he first introduced, we're pretty surprised and impressed for him. And thats why they made a movie that is sorta like a sequel from last year.

With that said, will this movie holds up for the MCU's second attempt of our favorite web-swinger, or is this film will be like a bug crushed by Green Goblin?

Lets find out.

Story
It began after the Avengers fought against the creatures called "Chitauri", a man named Adrian Toomes worked for a clean up, but they're been took over by Stark's U.S. Department of Damage Control, leaving him and his henchmen out of business. 8 years later, Peter Parker filmed himself for a vlogging about his life and even being a heroic Spider-man while fighting against a few members of Avengers. After that, he was originally attended to be a part of the Avengers, but he was not ready, because he has a study to do. Meanwhile, Adrian was angered of his released, he was planning to stealing Tony Stark's Iron Man armors for his secret plan. So its up to Parker to dealing against Adrian known as "Vulture" to defending Tony's armors.

I can the story is actually quiet interesting concept, rather having a villain for stealing money or any victim, this one focused with Vulture looking for Tony's armor for his goal and revenge. Even though the story can hard for Peter's difficult goal to become a member of the Avengers after the Civil War, which he may risked himself for his adventure. As we know, the subplot goes where Parker has to do the study in his school and perhaps have a relationship with Liz, which it didn't work very well. The study subplot might work, since we know Pete is a teenager hero, but the love with Liz, yeah...

The story is pretty good, but some of the subplot isn't worth for the development.

The production
What can i say for the production? Its just a great concept in MCU. The filming location is nice place, especially with Washington D.C.. The action sequence are pretty damn cool and intense. So what about the costume designs?  For Spider-man, he looks pretty cool, even though it has some black lines from his arms and legs. He has a belt which its easy for the fact its his ammo for his web-slingers, the web-slingers are shown which it would've been good to covering them. Plus, his mask has moving eyes for his reaction. But his costume has some interesting concept, which he might have a similar concept of Iron Man, with having an AI named "Karen", a robot partner named "Spider-Drone" and multiple of type of webs like taser, explosive and more. I like his concept, it will be a lot more creative and nearly powerful. He also have his old costume, which is just a hood and a mask with goggles, not bad, but i would've surprise if he has "The Human spider" costume from the first "Spider-man" movie, even though the suit in the movie took about between 25 to 45 when he's wearing it. For Vultures, i also like the design, with a pilot outfit with a jet pack with wings, he looks way better than his old appearance in the comic. Toomes's henchmen's gadgets are also pretty cool with laser gun with orbs, a shocking fist gauntlet for "Shocker" and even a gravity gun. And of course, we have Iron Man, in this movie, his armor called "Mk 47", although it has an interesting concept with Wi-Fi call, but the color appearance is average, although it has hotrod colors (red and yellow), but it has a bit too much of gray from torso and arms. The effects in the movie is well done with CGs.

The production is well-done for the actions and the costume designs.

The characters
If you ever read the comic, you probably know who those characters are, unless you already know from previous MCU films.

First is our titular friendly neighborhood himself, Peter Parker, aka Spider-man (played by Tom Holland). He's a geek boy for study with science and maybe a comic book boy. However, he seems to be probably risky, since he may have a clumsy problem not just in average life, but being a hero. I mean sure, he is a teen in a unlucky life from his rival Flash Thompson (played by Tony Revolori). Despite that, Tom did a good job for his role, especially that he was inspired from two previous roles of Spider-man.

He has a friend named Ned (played by Jacob Batalon), although he's like Peter for science subject in school, but he's probably be like his partner of Spider-man for the command of locations and others. Even though some say that he's supposed to be "Ned Leeds" (aka the third Hobgoblin), but he has nothing to do with him to never include "Leeds" for his last name. Well, only time will tell for more Spider-man movies.

Then we have Liz (played by Laura Harrier), who's a student's favorite in the school and probably a love interest from Parker. But sadly, she would've do better that she has less appearance and she's not as interesting than Mary Jane Watson nor Gwen Stacy.

His partner is Tony Stark aka Iron Man (played by or course, Robert Downey Jr), as you know, he's a genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist with a sense of humor. In this movie, he seems to be like a mentor to make attention to Parker for the goal to become a part of Avengers. Its kinda obvious that he has less appearance, which i guess he's busy to hang out with babes. Although still, Robert is always did a nice work for his role.

And finally is Adrian Toomes aka Vulture (played by Michael Keaton), he's an interesting villain in the movie, he's an arms trafficker for seeks revenge for his released of his business. Which he has a jetpack wing from Chitauri technology. He's sorta like a dark version of Tony Stark. though Keaton did a nice job of his role, but apparently, he's portrayed in the opposite direction after he played Batman from 1989 to 1992.

There few others like Aunt May (played by Marisa Tomei) even though she seems to be less older, Michelle Jones (played by Zendaya?) who's a smarter student in Peter's class, Happy Hogan (played by... Jon Favreau???) who's a former head security of Stark's industries and a bodyguard, Aaron Davis (played by Donald Glover) who's a purchaser for Toomes and more that i won't tell more.

The characters are great and one who's nice to be back. Even though some who's rather forgettable.

And now its time for my conclusion.
Spider-man Homecoming is probably a best Spider-man film ever done with good acting for the characters (except for some), interesting story and impressive production. Even though the subplot for the relationship of Liz and Peter isn't worth for the lack of development or even Iron Man's Mk 47 design. Despite my flaws of the movie, but its still great. If you're looking for good Spider-man film, this one is for you, i highly recommend to watch it, it has fun action and it has some sense of humor.

So for that, il give it 9/10. Go watch it if you want.

Well, im done for the review. If you guys have some suggestions or your opinion of the movie, hit the comment bellow.

Movie Review: Cars 3

Notice: This review starring my OC instead of fictional myself. Readers discretion is advised.

One day in GP Australia, Anthony is driving with his MP4/4 and he's in the lead for his chance of winning. But after driving in Turn 1, his tire (on rear right) is getting damaged from the speed that causing him to losing his control, not before he was being hit and lift in the air from a random driver in Lola THL1, not before Anthony hits the ground and rolling off from the track from a dramatic impact crash, causing him to nearly passed with horrible injuries with broken right elbow, broken ribs, broken left knee and nearly broken toes. The marshals pull him out of his car and call the ambulance for rush to a hospital.

*meanwhile, on B.E.915's house*

Bryan Emmerich (aka B.E. 915): Oh my god...

Mystica: Goodness...  I've never seen your friend has a horrible crash with his old school racing car.

Bryan Emmerich: Yeah, it nearly remind me a film that we saw yesterday, which is Cars 3 that we saw.

Mystica: Yeah, but at least our hero is safe from a horrific crash.

Bryan Emmerich: Yeah, so im pretty sure we can do a review, which i like to do it for my friend.

Mystica: What review?

Bryan Emmerich: About Cars 3 that we saw it, which i like to share my opinion and explain about the movie.

Mystica: Ah ok, so go ahead and review what we saw, hot-shot.

Bryan Emmerich: Thanks. ^^

Hello everyone, my name is Bryan Emmerich and im here to take a review for you guys.

From a few years ago, after Disney purchased Pixar for a billion dollars to become a parent companies, Pixar made "Cars", a movie staring Lightning McQueen, who's a selfish racer who likes to win the race for his fans, until he gets a learn and respect to becoming selfless and good heart. And when "Cars 2" came out, its easily one of the weakest film that they ever done that i don't like it.

But not before after several years, when they announced Cars 3, everything was changing...

"Cars 3" is a 2017 animated film by Pixar. It was written (for story) and directed by Brian Fee, produced by Kevin Reher, written of screenplay by Kiel Murray, Bob Peterson and Mike Rich, and a written of story by Ben Queen, Eyal Podell and Jonathan E. Stewart.

At first, many people didn't appreciate for the third installment of Cars, but when the trailer show up, it went shocked and kinda depressing. Which i was unexpected when Anthony and i saw it. Even though i wish if Anthony watch this movie after the race, but no...

Anyway, will this movie will be good than two previous films, or is this film that its gonna be a like a fatal crash?

Well, lets find about about it.

The Story
For years, Lightning McQueen has been racing in Piston Cup a while that he won some races and have fun with his opponents. But in one race, he was been overtaken by a newcomer named "Jackson Storm", which resulting a lot of change, rookies are hybrid racer and some veteran who's going to retire of their racing career. On one faithful race in California, McQueen was struggled to catching at Storm, but he suffered a horrible crash from his rear tire. After four months, McQueen was depressed when he got lost that he looked back from the past from his late mentor Doc Hudson had a great performance before he retired from the crash, however, he receive a call from Dusty and Rusty (the former owner of Rust-Eze) to bring McQueen in the company that it was sold from Sterling that it become "Rust-eze Racing Center", until he meets Cruz Ramirez, a racing technician that she wishes to be a racer like McQueen as a fan of him. So not only McQueen has a choice for retire or coming back of racing, but also training with Cruz to become a professional racer to dealing at Jackson Storm.

I gotta say, i find it to be an interesting story. Even though that i know, is that the story feels like "Rocky" films, which at first our main hero went in bottom from the damage, then goes to a training montage for a comeback. But instead of boxing, its obviously about racing. Even though it has an element that if our hero lost, he'll forced to be retire from the damage, i mean sure we know for our life from a new technology of racing, but we always want to win the event. There's a subplot they McQueen and Cruz went into "Thunder Hollow", which it happens to be a Demolition Derby, even though its not only a training, but also a risky decision. Which i though this scene is a filler, but its plot purpose. The movie focused a lot of explanation from the past about Doc Hudson, its interesting and sad at first, but it feels like we're missing the main plot to dealing against Storm.  and for the jokes, its was funny from the beginning, later on, the jokes may or may not be worked.

Though the story is actually good, even though its almost like a Pixar version of Rocky.

The animation
I gotta say, the animation is...     Well, what do you expect that this is Pixar. But as we know that we're in the sequel, it has to be upgrade for new quality more concepts. The animation of this movie is nicely done and colorful, thanks for a character designs when we see the race. If you may not know about the concept of the films, John Lasseter was fascinated of racing like NASCAR ever since when he was young and he wanted to make a movie of racing. And the character designs was originally that the eyes was located on the headlights, but it changed that the eyes is in windshield, which i like that concept unlike some others with a cheap anthro car designs. The background of the road, the Rust-Eze apartment and the track looks fantastic that we feel like we're in our racing fantasy, i like those concepts.

The production and the animation of the movie looks pretty cool and beautiful location.

The characters
If you guys haven't seen the first one, il give you a small development.

Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) was started being a selfish racer who likes to competing in Piston Cup, until he chnaged for being selfless, caring and respect for anyone.

Mater (voiced by Larry the cable guy) is a comical tow truck and McQueen's best friend in Radioator Spring.

Sally (voiced by Bonnie Hunt) is a love interest of McQueen and...   Well, she's a cute looking Porsche 996.

And there few others on the list, but i don't want to make too much, cause i like to introduce our new characters.

First we have Cruz Ramirez (voiced by Cristela Alonzo), Although McQueen is a main protagonist but kinda forgotten, but for Cruz, i like her. She's not only considered to be a fan of McQueen, but she's also dreamer, because she wanted to become a racer, but she started as a technician and a trainer from her favorite racer. Plus, she's fun for her appearance in the film, despite she has a difficult practice for racing. I like Cruz, i mean the could focus about her, even though its all about training to competing against Storm.

Speaking of Storm, there's Jackson Storm (played by Armie Hammer), he's a main antagonist in the film for his arrogant and probably a powerful rookie when he was first introduced. He's like a combination of Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago from Rocky films, for rude and strong racer. But he only has small appearance for only in the first act and final act (Well, almost in the second act.). This guy is such a beast for a hybrid racer and a quick record. He's pretty damn cool, even if he could make more appearance what he was wondering about McQueen.

Then we have Sterling (voiced by Nathan Fillion), a rich business man of Rust-eze Racing Center. To me, he's just a business man to make a decision for McQueen for his either continuation of racing or retirement for endorsement of ads. Although Nathan did a nice work of his role, but the character is rather forgettable.

There few others in the list like Smokey (voiced by Chris Cooper) who's a former mechanic and a chief crew, Miss Fritter (voiced by Lea DeLaria) who's a one scary monster bus of Demolition Derby and...   Lewis Hamilton playing as fictional himself for voice command?  Well, this is the second time that the  3-times F1 champion was in Cars films.

The characters in the movie some are quiet enjoyable, even though some are not as good for the role.

Now, its time for my conclusion.
Cars 3 is probably superior than three others, even thought if it may not be a better film than the upcoming Coco. The story is not bad, the animation is well-done and the characters are quiet above average. Despite that it could've add something more interesting than borrow the similar story element of one of famous boxing movie from the 70's. and perhaps some characters would've done good like Sterling. If you're a fan of Cars, i think you're gonna enjoy this movie, you can give a shot that the movie has been change for hybrid cars and dramatic. If not, well im pretty sure you could find some movie involving racing.

Oh btw, you're probably wondering about my thoughts of Pixar's "Lou"? Well... I find it pretty bellow average, its a nice concept, but i've seen it better. So, 3/10.

Anyway, il give this movie a 7/10.

Well, im done for the review, if you guys are appreciated the review, have some suggestion, let me know at the comment bellow.

Thank you for reading and until next time.

*Review ends*

Mystica: Well, that was interesting, you've been talking about for almost an hour, right?

Bryan Emmerich: Yeah, its almost like if i wanna be an internet celebrity for a hosting a review.

Mystica: Hm, interesting.

*meanwhile, in Australian GP's track*

Corporate Driver (driving with Benetton B194): *drives in second place from a slight miles behind of James Lauda (who's driving with Ferrari 641)* Im gonna win the race since that Canadian bastard has lost the race that i hope he's dead!

Not before Corporate was being rear-hit by a Danish racer Brent Ketersen (who's driving with Lotus 98T), he was angry at him for his unmasked from 2 years ago.

Brent Ketersen: *hits Corporate's rear again* You're gonna pay for my dignity...

Brent keeps hitting him, but not before CD's car has been rear lifted and sticking from a Danish's car. It may be a revenge, but it might a dangerous action that Brent's car is losing control from a broken suspension. The two cars is going faster and go off the track, Brent proceeds to jumping off the track, but he hurts himself from rolling, causing him with broken left shoulder and tilted ankle. Corporate Driver was panic that he got stuck from Lotus, as he was trying to jump off his car, but it was too late that two cars are crash on the barrier and causing an horrifying crash where Corporate Driver has his arms crushed and his legs are tearing off.

This causing a red flag for the second time (since Anthony's near fatal crash), but this time, the race was ended after 40 laps (Even though the racing lap was 45.). James Lauda was finished in the first place, while others like Marko Irwing (with Williams FW12) in second place and Samantha Chilta (with Tyrrell 020) in third place.

*Back to Bryan Emmerich's home*

Bryan Emmerich: Jesus, i've never seen anything about a big fat crash...  I hope Brent is ok when he nearly sacrificed himself...

Mystica: I bet so. and what about Corporate Driver?

Bryan Emmerich: Don't ask about him, i think he deserves to be suffered for how arrogant, manipulative rich he is...

*Back to the track again*

Secretary Driver: *runs to see Corporate in panic feeling* Sir? Sir?!

Corporate Driver: *lays on the ground with torn legs and broken arms and screaming of pain (Despite he's still wearing his helmet)*

Secretary Driver was yelling in panic for help, the security runs at them for help and calling an ambulance for also taken to a hospital. Once the ambulance arrived, they're trying to pick him to the vehicle, but Corporate keeps crying in agony from the crash, until it drives away.

*Back to Bryan Emmerich's home again*

Bryan Emmerich: Well... I guess we better go for...  maybe take a walk to get off a traumatizing crash in special event?

Mystica: I guess so.

Bryan Emmerich: Ok. *gets up from the couch* Its to take a walk for a-- *opens a door, but there's a cardboard box in front of him* Hm? Why is the box in front of my home?

Mystica: Hm? *gets up and sees a box* Did you got a delivery?

Bryan Emmerich: Im not sure i did it, il guess il find out to open it. *grabs a box and opens it, but not before he was surprised* Oh my goodness...

Movie review: Wonder Woman

Anthony: Hmm... *throws a comic book of "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" away* I guess il go to the other direction. *picks up "Wonder Woman 2017"* After three movies of disappointed and one is the worst, i hope this one will be good.... *opens a book*

*2 hours later*

Anthony: *feels surprised* That was...      Actually better than three previous films...!

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my movie review.

Last years, i watched "Man of Steel", "Batman V Superman" and "Suicide Squad", which all of them are in absolute disappointed, even though Suicide Squad is my guilty pleasure, but understand that its bad. But Man of Steel and Batman V Superman are just a joke of disappointment for no development and poor cash-in of DC universe films.

After three films, i was nearly losing my hope for other DC films, but not before we have two other DC films will coming out this year. That is "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League". But first, we'll start with the famous Amazon in her film.

"Wonder Woman" is a 2017 film that was directed by Patty Jenkins, written (for story) and produced by Zack Snyder, other producers for the films with Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder (Who's Zack's wife) and Richard Suckle. other writers such as Allan Heinberg (for screenplay and story) and Jason Fuchs...?! (for story)    Who the heck names him as "Jason Fuchs"?!  I've heard the name a lot ridiculous like Fred Fuchs. That really starts to bothering me during a research...

Anyway, this is a type a film that when i heard about her movie, i was hoped that its gonna be a good one. Even though if you're familiar with Wonder Woman if you read the comics, TV show from the mid-late 70's or even some cartoons by my favorite creator Bruce Timm. So now we finally have her own live action film that we're highly anticipated.

So, with all that said, will this movie holds up for our favorite Amazonian, or is this film was suffered the same problem from before?

Well, lets find out.

The story
It begins in present time where Prince Diana received an old photo from the past, which it goes to an origin of her. She was created as a clay from her mother, before Zeus stroke a lightning at her to make a birth of Diana herself. As she grew up, she started training to become a warrior of her land Themyscira. However, an American pilot/spy named Steve Trevor was stranded in Themyscira from the German (Which this movie takes place in world War 1). Because of World War, Diana believes that Ares the God of War, is still alive when he was defeated by Zeus. Its up to her to leave her land to dealing not only Ares, but the Germans in the war.

At first, i though that its gonna be one of the film with no explanation with more action. But no, they've done better, which they finally made a setting development and stuff. Which we have the origin about Ares or the Trevor's flashback before stranded in Themyscira. I like how the movie starts in Diana's home land before going to World War 1 to showing her beginning, which we finally get the character development, but il get to that later. But my small nitpick of the movie is that it began in the present time for a bit, not until it goes to a huge origin, i mean they could just put an entire past instead of a big fat flashback from the present time, but thats just my opinion that i don't like.

Though the story is interesting for her origin, even if the movie started where she worked in Wayne's Enterprise.

The production
Before we have our film, Wonder Woman's movie was suffered a hell development, which it was first started back in 1996, it was originally that Ivan Reitman was a producer and possibly a director and Diana was supposed to be played by Sandra Bullock with a flawed personality. But again, the movie had a hell development with a multiple of change of scripts, directing, production and actors. That is until Patty Jenkins, Zack Snyder and other crews took over the development in 2015 and picked up Gal Gadot to playing as Prince Diana, but they brought her in "Batman V Superman", which is not only stupid or misleading, but its way too soon before she got her own stand-alone movie.

Anyway, the production of this movie looks pretty nice and well done. Its worth noting that it was filmed somewhere in Europe like UK, Italy and few others location. The action sequences was fun, intense and pretty entertaining, even though its hard to question like whenever the enemy shoots at her, since she uses her bracelets as a bullet protection, like why can they shoot other than her wrists? But its obvious that she has a quick reflex for her protection with her bracelets. Speaking of outfit, as i saw her outfit in "Batman V Superman", i think her outfit is pretty damn cool and beautiful, which it fits very well as an Amazonian warrior unlike her classic leotard for "America!". Don't give me wrong, i do like her classic outfit, but i like her outfit in the movie. Although the CGI effect was nicely work, but other times it feels a bit video game-ish, like during the flashback scene of Ares dealing against everyone and the gods.

The production is well-done, even if the CG feels slightly cheap.

The characters
Unlike any other films in DCEU, this one has a development that we can finally know and like.

First is Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot). Unlike in Batman V Superman who appeared without any likability, here, it made look good and probably likable. She's strong, brave and other times curious.  Even though she might be desperate that she wants to stop the war to bring peace in Europe, which it may sounds a bit immature. But the downside is not just the character, but the Gal's role. Im not saying she has an acting problem, which she did a nice job, but she had an issue of her life. Its because she was pregnant, this means that they had to reshooting and put a green cloth all over her belly to avoid her pregnancy. Pretty ironic for the post-production...

Next, we have Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine, aka Captain Kirk from Star Trek). As we know, he's a love interest/sidekick of Diana. Being a pilot and spy of America, he's know to be a bit sneaky, nice and a little bit awkward for his difficult explaining (Like somebody needs to give a bottle of water and a lasso of truth for his...   Well, Truth.). Even though i never notice who play as Steven, but i've never noticed that he was played by Kirk. But still, Pine did a nice work of his role.

And we have Sir Patrick Morgan (played by David Thewlis). Even though i never know who he is, but he's a nice character for his plan to dueling against German and some villains with deadly gas. I've not much else to say, but David did a nice work of his role.

There're few other character in the film, especially with Steve's partner like Charlie, a Scottish former sniper of PTSD (played by Ewen Bremner), Sameer, a French Moroccan con-artist and a secret agent (played by Saïd Taghmaoui) and maybe Etta Candy, who's a friendly British (played by Lucy Davis).

They also include the Amazonian like General Antiope, who's Diana's aunt (played by Robin Wright) and Queen Hippolyta, who's not only the queen of Amazonian's land, but also Diana's mother (played by Connie Nielsen). I expected that the Amazonians could make more appearance to wondering about Wonder Woman or any plan for a backup, but nope, they're only appeared in the first act and they're never to be seen or mentioned ever again (Perhaps they'll come back in "Justice League.).

For the villains we're looking for, we have Ares, who's a god of war. I can say he's a badass looking villain, but he was kept secret unless in final act. They also have other villains like a fictional Erich Ludendorff (played by Danny Huston) and Doctor Poison, a poisonous chemist with deadly gas and a better look than the comic (played by Elena Anaya). But the two villains are rather forgettable, they're more like a secret henchmen.

Though the characters are good and probably well-developed, but some characters could've doing better in the film.

And now for my final opinion of the film.
Overall, after three movies of disappointment, Wonder Woman's finally a movie that is good. With interesting story, well-produced and some good characters. Even though the opening sequence of present time could've get rid of, some CG are not as good realistic of quality, which im aware and some characters would've make a good development. But the movie has suffer a controversy that some of you guys all know.

Aside of censorship in Lebanon, the movie theater in Austin, Texas is doing something soo bad that its just outright sexist, they put the film in the theater and put a sign that women are allowed to watch the movie, not for men. Like seriously, its just ridiculous and stupid for almost every men in Texas, they could just give a chance to watch it, but no, they went to say "F*** you boys! Only girls have to watch this movie! :D". I mean for F*** sake, there's no reason to be sexist for the opening theater film! I swear, if they do the same thing for other superheroine films in other theaters, il be pissed even more for sexism...!

Despite the flaws of ban and sexism, its actually superior film DCEU. If you're a fan of Wonder Woman of DC universe, i recommend to watch the film. It may not be perfect, but still, its a good movie. And il be waiting for their next film for few months later such as "Justice League".

Il give this movie a 7.5/10.

So this ends of my movie review, if you have your opinion or any suggestions, let me know at the comment bellow.

Mini-review: King Arthur: Legend of the sword

Notice: This review has no connection of storyline review of 2017. Readers discretion is advised.

You know, there's been many of legend tale films out here that we remembered like "Narnia" or even "Lord of the Rings". But the one was considered to be a classic story is "King Arthur". a story about a legendary warrior who lives with a mentor name "Merlin" about the sword is stuck on the stone. As he picked up the sword known as "Excalibur", he become a brave warrior and later on, becoming the king to fight against the war lord. This legend story was so classic that it has been adapted and inspired, from movies, cartoons and more.

But the one that i saw is "King Arthur: legend of the sword", a fantasy epic film that was directed by written (screenplay), produced and directed by Guy Ritchie. Its one of the film that i was curious to see, but i changed my mind that i watched "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". But i went in activity club to see this movie to give a shot.

For the story, it begins on the flashback that Arthur has been raised by the prostitutes, when his parents was murdered by Mordred. As he grew up, he become a skilled warrior and he pulls an "Excalibur" off from the stone, which he was being imprisoned for that?  But not before he was being rescued by his friends and setting up to fight the iron fist with Camelot.

Yeah, the story is rather forgettable, its as if they're trying to follow the main plot for Arthur dealing against the evil army, but then it got slow and wasted with some filler. Another thing thats not good, is that it doesn't have relation of Arthur and Merlin, instead Merlin was replaced by a female nameless mage, which i find it ok, but not that good.

The production of this movie is pretty cool, with nice location (despite some filming location was done in CGI) and an incredible action sequences. But sometimes it got tacky, especially the movie got randomly editing from the past or forward moment, like stop trying to skip or going back, it drove me confused. The most annoying of all of this movie is the overuse of "flashback", like we get it, Arthur's parents is killed, we need to moving on to a war. And finally, they including monsters, which all of them are either average or even ugly design that feels like an old generation of video game.

And the characters are rather average, Arthur (played by Charlie Hunnam) is rather an interesting hero, the mage (played by Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey) seems to be a bit forgettable for little bit of less appearance, but she has a cool ability of possessing animals and the main villain Mordred (played by Rob Knighton) is an average villain. And the rest of the characters are rather forgettable, including "Blue" who's an annoying kid that i wish he'll die.

Although the acting is good, but most of them couldn't saved from this movie.

In the end, its just a poor attempt of adaptation film based on the legendary tale. It was so bad that it became a box-office bomb with less than a hundred million dollars, since they produced the film with 175 million dollars of budget.

So for that, i give it 3/10.

Movie review: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Anthony: That was close for-- *sees a comic book on the floor* Hm? A comic book? *picks up one book* "Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2"? I never seen the first one, but il guess il find out in this sequel. *opens a book to read (or watching a movie)*

*2 hours later*

Umm...   It was.... Ok...?

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to movie review.

Well im going back to Marvel Cinematic Universe to take a look one of the fan favorite of franchise a long with Civil War and few others you like, is "Guardians of the Galaxy". Although i never seen the first one, but many people enjoyed this movie with great actions, funny and likable characters for a fun performances.

When the first one was successful for critical acclaim and great box-office, they made a sequel for an exciting anticipation. With the result....  It was kinda different.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is a 2017 Marvel superheroes film that was written and directed by James Gunn and produced by Kevin Feige. This is one of the film that its not anticipation, but more likely a curiosity, despite that i never seen the first one.

So, with all that said, will this movie will be a good sequel, or is it gonna be obscure from far away of the Galaxy?

Well, lets find out.

The Story
It takes place in 2014 after the first film, Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon and Baby Groot work together as the titular group. The leader of Sovereign race, Ayesha tell them that she brough Gamora's sister name "Nebula", who's a prisoner who attempt to stealing batteries. Once they left, but Rocket stole the batteries for his plan, which resulting Ayesha very mad to sending her armies to stop them and hiring Yondu Udonta, but they escaped. Meanhwile, Peter Quill (Star-Lord) meets a mysterious father named "Ego" along with Mantis where he raised her, Ego wants to have a family reunion to his own planet. Peter accepts that he, Drax and Gamora come together to Ego's planet, while Rocket, Nebula and Baby Groot will be in the planet to fixing a ship, not before they're being captured by Yondu's crews.

So yeah, i find the story is getting splitting up, which i was rather confusing and perhaps cliche. Its due to the fact i don't know who's the main villain of the movie, because i had a hard time to thinking for the story. And they brought a "father and son relationship" in the movie that doesn't help out for Ego and Star-Lord. And there's a rivalry of Gamora and Nebula, but i find that its just a waste of time with filler. Though the story story with the escape from the evil crews with Rocket and Groot was interesting and funny, but couldn't make it quicker from a 2 hours film. As for the jokes, it still there that i find it funny.

The story is probably average at best to describe, its as if Gunn was trying way to hard to make it creative, but not too good.

The production
Good lord, the production of this movie was amazing and colorful. I really like how Kevin was done for the concept with colorful space, creative background and a well-done makeup (Especially with Drax). The background design in Ego's planet looks pretty nice and colorful, especially the flashback egg-thingy that it kinda reminds of Krypton's ship with a flashback from "Man of Steel", but more colors. And like the first film, at least i like the design of Rocket Raccoon, which they're trying made him look like a realistic raccoon rather than playing silly of cartoony, which im glad they done it. But like Suicide Squad, they played some songs that you may or may not familiar with, but at least they some songs that i never heard of. But my tiny nitpick, is that they played "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac two times from the first act and the final act, they could've play some song from the trailer like "hooked on a feeling" by Blue Swede or David Hasselhoff (Maybe not the last one, but it would've been a nice pick for Peter Quill, since he's like a fanboy of David.).

The production is a fantastic job for beautiful backgrounds and nice design. Despite they should've play "Hooked on a feeling" in the movie than the trailer. Just saying.

The characters
Im sure some of you are familiar of  members of "Guardians of the Galaxy". But if you never heard of them like myself, il try my best to describe and giving my opinion. Even though we have some new characters in the film.

First is the leader of the group, Peter Quill aka Star-Lord (Played by my favorite actor, Chris Pratt), originally a human alien thief of "Ravagers", he's a type a guy that we love for his personality and some culture reference, but not too much as Deadpool. However, i get the feel that he's went down a bit in this movie, but i won't tell the truth for spoilers. Despite that, i like Chris Pratt's performance of the leader of the group and he's always my favorite.

Next we have Gamora, a daughter of Thanos (played by Zoe Saldana), she's known to be an assassin for seeking redemption and trained by her father. Although she's supposed to be a love interest from Star-Lord, but its obvious she's more like an anti-hero of the group, she's strong independent and badass alien girl. Beautiful aside, i find that she's a pretty cool character, and yes, its the same atress who played "Uhura" from J.J. Abram's Star Trek.

Third member is Drax the destroyer (played by the former WWE superstar, Dave Bautista), he's a highly skilled warrior to looking for a fight at Thanos for his family's death. Even though that he used to be a bad guy, but i think he's also an interesting character of this movie. Despite of badassness, but he's actually pretty funny in the movie.

Fourth member is Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper), he's an alien anthropomorphic raccoon bounty hunter with a mastery of weapons and military tactics. Even though he has a similar personality like the first movie, funny and cranky, but he's sorta become mentor of Baby Groot (Since i think the first Groot was sacrificed. Again, i never seen the first one, but spoiler?). He's yet another likable character in the movie, he's not only cute, but also pretty badass with his guns.

finally there's Baby Groot (played by Vin Diesel), he's pretty unlikely than the first film. But sure he has the ability to planting his arms to beat the bad guys or other times he's just doing nothing. Even though he's just a kid, but i wish he could've get more action. And i've nothing against Vin Diesel, he's a badass actor since he's decades with Fast and Furious films. And no, i never seen "The Fate and the Furious".

Finally, lets get some new characters.

First is Ego (surprisingly played by Kurt Russel), he's a mysterious ancient being that he;s supposed to be a father of Quill. Although i find pretty strange that he's a planet human being, which he created his home planet by himself. Even though he couldn't avoid from "father and son" cliche, which im not sure if he fits in with Star Lord. Despite the flaws, Kurt did an interesting performance over the years of his career, probably better than his role in "Man of Steel".

Next we have Mantis (played by Pom Klementieff), she was raised by Ego and she has the ability of Empathy. She's a type of character who's lonely and kinda depressed, i kinda felt bad for her. Even though i find her kinda creepy since she looks bug-eyed, i guess its they're trying to be look like human-like bug for a face, but im sure if she's either cute or creepy. Even though i never heard of Pom, but i think she did a nice work.

Then there's Yondu Udonta (played by Michael Rooker, aka... Merle Dixon from The Walking Dead?), who's a buccaneer and the leader of Ravagers and he's supposed to be a fatherly figure of Quill. What i heard, they're trying to be a bit look like in the comic, whether you agree or not. At first i though he has nothing to do with the plot, but i was wrong, he was the leader of the group that he was looking for Guardians of the Galaxy. The funny thing about him is that he has the ability of manipulating arrow with whistles, i find it strange, but ok? Despite of questionable casting choice, Michael did an interesting job as a leader of the group. I mean i wouldn't expect if Marvel studio bring Norman Reedus in MCU, just saying.

Next up, there's Nebula (played by Karen Gillan), she's an adopted daughter of Thanos that she's supposed to be a sister of Gamora. Even though she has a hate relationship of her sister. She seems to be a bit similar to Blackfire, who's an evil sister of Starfire for her power. But Nebula was likely an anti-adopted sister that she wants to kill Gamora. But my problem, is that she's rather a filler that it has nothing to do with a main plot. Sorry Nebula, im not sure if you're likable in the movie.

And finally, there's Stakar Ogord, aka Starhawk (also surprisingly played by Sylvester Stallone), he's also an interesting character in the movie, he's an high rank of Ravanger and an history with Yondu. Although he did a great acting, but my problem is that he has less appearance, he appeared in the first act and final act. Talk about a waste inclusion in the movie.

They're a few other characters like Ayesha (played by Elizabeth Debicki), who's a queen of her races and...  Taserface (played by Chris Sullivan) *snicker* Whats with his name... X3

The characters are quiet good in the movie, but some are probably a waste of space for either filler or even a waste of appearance.

And now for my final opinion of this film.
Overall, "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is probably an above average film, the story is not that great, the production is well done and the characters are great and some that are forgettable. I maybe agree with my friend or something, that i should've watch the first one before the sequel, i know its not easy for my curiosity to see this movie. If you like Guardians of the Galaxy, maybe its for you, if not, just stick to the first one.

Il give this movie a 6/10. It may not be watchable, but its rather averagely entertaining.

So this ends of my movie review, but im not done with comic book movies, because next time, il going back to another one, but in DC universe film that i hope it will be better..
